Krautrock (Amon Duul 2, Neu!, Ashra, Kraftwerk, Can, etc).
Space Rock - Ozric Tentacles, Hidria Spacefolk, Pink Floyd
Demoscene music - SceneSat / Nectarine, CVGM
I find music with singing distracting when I'm trying to write code.

Re: I made an iOS game and it's weird
To be honest, my game was more of a bucket list thing than an attempt to make some cash.
I kinda regret not writing it for Android instead. Maybe if I'm feeling up to it, I'll back port it to Android...

How are your sales?
My game had abysmal sales, so I decided to make it free.
Try it out, if you will, please...

I thought it was pretty interesting.
Lots of math in demos, most of it is over my head.

That's a bummer dude.
The mail guy must have been really pissed off or something.
It wasn't labelled Famicom on the outside label was it?
Maybe when he was a kid, he never got one for Xmas...

Re: What do you guys do for work?
Actually, you beat me to the question. I've been kinda wondering what most of the peeps on this board do... I'd be surprised if someone on here was delivering pizzas, not that there's anything wrong with that. But, smart people are needed, (and companies are willing to pay!) and there's a lot of bad...

Re: Power Supply broke down
I'm pretty sure most modern notebook computers have voltage regulators inside, which means any PSU around 20VDC should work fine.
I've tested this on my older Dell which needed 20VDC. I used 2 12V lead acid batteries in series and it worked fine.

Re: Video game related movies
Scott Pilgrim vs the World is probably my all time favorite game related movie.
I love Edgar Wright's style.
A nod goes to Wreck-It Ralph.
I also love the original Wargames (game/hacker related).

Of games made in the last console generation (PS3), my favorites are: Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, Cave Story, Braid, PixelJunk Shooter, VVVVVV, Super Hexagon, Amnesia, Limbo, Xenoblade Chronicles, Scott Pilgrim The Game (River City Ransom). Right now I'm going through Odin Sphere, Vanquish and 3D Dot...

Re: FDSloadr partly works
I found a file which I had some success/failures, but this was with some old boards, Seems like EPP mode works the most. Unfortunately, I dumped all these boards a while ago. Success ------- Abit BX6-2 (300mhz EPP mode 1.9) (Award BIOS) Abit BH6 (400mhz EPP mode 1.9) (Award BIOS) Abit BM6 (366mhz EP...

Re: Who has an NES and an Apple II monitor?
I have access to a couple different Amiga monitors like the 1080 and 1084 which I believe do have a vertical and horizontal size adjustments. As well as a PowerPak, and pretty much all common mapper carts hacked to accept EPROMs for testing.

Anyone want to test my new iOS game?
I'm currently working on an 2d multiplayer dogfighting game for iOS, and if anyone would like to help me test it out (or submit bugs :) that would greatly be appreciated. It requires 2 iOS devices to play. Has single play training but the AI is really dumb. (AI is hard to write, mmkay). It has LAN/I...

I've always thought the M82 Kiosk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tf5DQuUnKoI would be a great NES BIOS screen. Just change some of the instruction text.

Re: Final issue of Nintendo Power on newstands now (retro co
I feel like the Nintendo I knew died a slow death starting with the N64. Since the N64, games from Big N kept getting less and less challenging. The motion controls really put me off, especially for games like Donkey Kong Country Returns, because it's so imprecise. Platformers really require precisi...
