Could someone please explain how on earth you convert a 16 bit eprom to 8 bit? And is it simple?

Re: Please help wiring two 27c801 chips into a superfx pcb
Okay I'm new to this whole snes repro making business. Would it be at all possible you could make a wiring schematic for the 27c160 using this pinout: http://nintendoallstars.w.interia.pl/romlab/so40fx.gif ? If you're too busy I fully understand. Also to burn a 27c160 do I need to use an adapter? I'...

Re: Please help wiring two 27c801 chips into a superfx pcb
Also with the two eproms I just split the commercial rom into halves and burn each half to an eprom? Obviously after I remove any header. I wouldn't say the music is out of sync is still plays when it's supposed to. And no you don't need super reflexes because the control response is equally as sped...

Re: Please help wiring two 27c801 chips into a superfx pcb
I suppose I should have posted this, superfx maskrom pinout: http://imgboot.com/images/Drakon/starfox2epromwiring.jpg No a20 on it. Guess with doom pcbs a20 is one of those 8 extra pins. I think I found the pin too since 7 out of 8 of the extra pins are grounded or connected to vcc and the 8th one c...

Please help wiring two 27c801 chips into a superfx pcb
I want to use the 74ls139 to wire up 8mbit eproms into a single superfx pcb, I found a way to romhack superfx games to run at unlimited speed, unfortunately doom is a 16mbit game. From my understanding I just wire the source chip enable line into one pin of the 139 and the other pins into the CE pin...

Re: RGB output from composite PPU
This's the most exciting thing ever. I will happily throw hundreds of dollars to you to get a version that fits inside an av famicom and gives me ideally rgb / s-video so I can just wire it into the multi av port.

Re: Palletes in Super Mario Land 2 DX
What's sad is this patch has been around since 2006, I have barely any asm experience, and I managed to fix the bug after learning a little about how this stuff works. In all fairness the bgb emulator debugger is a huge help no way I would have figured it out without that amazing tool

Re: Marioland / Metroid 2 full colour romhacks

Marioland 2 I fixed it crashing with the colorizer code: http://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php/topic,16035.0.html You can play it start to finish in an emulator. Making it work on real...

Re: Palletes in Super Mario Land 2 DX
I fixed this already. http://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php/topic,16035.0.html The problem was at the beginning of the stage the game was doing writes that were setting it to run as a 512k rom, colorizer needs the game to be running as 1mbyte. The writes weren't necessary for the game to functio...

I wasn't aware there's more than one version of the vrc6 unless I'm reading something wrong.

Marioland / Metroid 2 full colour romhacks
Myself and spikeman have been tag-teaming the gbcolorizer code and have managed to get colorized gb games running on real hardware: http://imgboot.com/images/Drakon/m2colourtitle.jpg http://imgboot.com/images/Drakon/m2colourruns.jpg Here's the patches in their current states. Re: New CIC Clone by Krikzz available (AVRCICZZ)
Looks like it's based on http://thefox.aspekt.fi/Tengen.c (not that there's anything wrong with that). I'm kind of surprised it took this long for another clone to come out, though, all the info has been laying in that thread for years! Yeah but you're like a god at this stuff, us mere mortals are ...

Re: Need help debugging a rom
I got an e-mail response from the author of the bgb emulator. Here's what he said: "i looked at the rom. it does not work on your flashcart, bgb's cart troubleshooting mode, or really anything but a mbc1, because it uses mbc1 specific behavior: it writes 01 to 4xxx to choose the "high bank...

Re: Need help debugging a rom
Haha I love marioland, it was one of my favourite games as a kid. Plus I'm horrible at rom hacking so I wanted to start with the simplest game I could find. Anyway asm hacking is above me which is why I'm posting here. The gameboy colorizer made a mess of the rom, I managed to hex edit away bugs and...
