Re: SNES PowerPak

Thanks for the reply, Ramsis. I still can't seem to get it to work. I'm using Notepad on Windows 7. I have your v2.02 "Simba" firmware installed (everything else works fine). I made a .txt file with simply "C28AAD61 code description" and nothing else. I left it on ANSI encoding. ...

Re: SNES PowerPak

How do I create a Game Genie code file? I couldn't find this info anywhere, but maybe I'm not looking hard enough. I put a .txt file on my CF card. I put "C28A-AD61" in the text file (I tried it with and without the hyphen). When I load the text file on the SNES PowerPak, it comes up "...

Re: Reading SRAM from SA-1 cart

I remember reading (maybe a year or more ago) that they couldn't get SA-1 carts to work with the Retrode. I haven't kept up with the progress (if any) of that. Have you tried looking on the Retrode forums?

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles

Well, to this I would ask, how many CRT TVs in your lifetime with both S-Video and YPbPr have you observed this finding and thus base this generalization from ? 3 ?? 5 ?? 10 ?? Enough, but if you want a honest answer, 3 CRTs plus 2 HDTVs. Most of the comparison was done on my Sony Wega KV27FS120 (C...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles

I was revisiting this page but still not sure if any circuit is now considered the correct one to use. Which one is now deemed the optimal one? I read almost all the pages but still not sure since most of the posts are about adding a removing a part by trial and error or why the previous amp is wro...

Re: SNES PowerPak

@ Ramsis: I just wanted to say, THANKS!

The stock menus are pretty harsh, and can be a pain in the ass to read. Yours look fantastic. Thank you so much for your work!

Re: MAD-1, MAD-2, MAD-R differences?

I only read the first page, I don't have time to read through all 7 right now. So hopefully I'm not posting this info when some one else already did, but either way, can't hurt. Kinda funny that I happened to spot this thread. I recently opened my EVO cart to clean it and was thinking, "What th...

Re: Super Mario Bros / Duck Hunt PCB Images

I was really upset when I got my FC Contra cart, I was planning on putting the English fan translation on the cart but found the blobs when I opened it up. I guess technically, it would have still been possible to do it, but I would have had to solder most connections to the cart edge and cut traces...

Re: Writing to SRAM on retail carts

The programmer that is used for the Super Flash Cart from Tototek will allow you to write to the SRAM on retail carts. http://tototek.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_8_11&products_id=39 You can buy the programmer separately for only $20 (scroll down to bottom of page) but ...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles

I've already tried that amp, look at my results on the top of page 4. http://forums.nesdev.com/viewtopic.php?p=107496#p107496 Ah I missed that....in that case, I'll wait for my breadboard to arrive and see if I can tweak this amp unless someone has a better one in mind. Sorry, I posted that really ...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles

Hrmmm. I kinda want to build a completely new circuit. I ordered a breadboard a couple days ago so I can play around with some of the settings more quickly. I've seen people use this for the n64 rgb mod: http://www.ti.com/product/ths7314 http://mmmonkey.co.uk/console/nintendo/ntsc_nintendo_64_rgb_n...

Re: Please help wiring two 27c801 chips into a superfx pcb

Ah, OK. I see now. In that case, I take back what I said. The 27C160 would be easier to use. I have only used it in 16-bit mode, so I was unaware. I read the datasheet a while back, I guess I was thinking of this: The M27C160 has two organizations, Word-wide and Byte-wide. The organization is select...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles

I was also told by someone with electrical engineering knowledge that I trust, that the 220uF's next to the 10uF's are actually creating a capacitance of less than 10uF, so I removed the 220's and it's now just a 10uF to the amplifier. Interesting. So you have it like this: S-ENC output > 10uF cap ...

Re: Please help wiring two 27c801 chips into a superfx pcb

I suppose I should have posted this, superfx maskrom pinout: IMAGE No a20 on it. Guess with doom pcbs a20 is one of those 8 extra pins. I think I found the pin too since 7 out of 8 of the extra pins are grounded or connected to vcc and the 8th one connects to the gsu 2. For reference: http://ninten...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles

So in this schematic, are you doing for instance: pin 24 -> 270Ohm (+ grnd) -> 220pF -> 1 uF -> 10uF -> Amp in? I'm confused because you put a schematic and then a + for the other schematic and not sure what you mixed. The reason I ask is I would like to try this amplifier out because I'm currently...
