Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles
Yeah, I know it's a pain in the ass, but you'd have to read from the start. That schematic is the one posted on GameSX for an N64 RGB mod, that's why there's red, green and blue. I'm only using it for Pr and Pb.

We are.Retrogamer wrote:Why are you grabbing the Luma (green) from the chip? You can use the luma from the Multi AVOUT port which already gives a perfect luma and just run that straight to the RCA jack.

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles
Currently, I have it exactly like this: http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g295/Ziggy587/PrPb-BA6591.jpg + http://www.gamesx.com/wiki/lib/exe/fetch.php?cache=&w=640&h=400&media=av:n64rgb.png Only without the second NJM amp, of course. edit: I think we might be able to remove some componen...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles
So I have some results. I don't think it's yet perfect, but we're closer now than before. I tried a bunch of different things, so I'll try to be thorough in my explanation to avoid confusion. So sorry if this turns into a wall of text, especially because of my lack of knowledge on the matter. First,...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles
Frankly I'm going to try it without the resistors first and see what I get on those outputs. I was thinking the same thing. Wish I had an oscilloscope. Me too. I'm hoping to find one in a thrift store one day, for really cheap. Though I don't go to thrift stores nearly as often as I should, so it m...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles
You want the 6db gain on N64o or you'll have a really dark image, and that is exactly what the mod is correcting. I understand that the N64 needs an amp for RGB, but I'm just a little confused by the schematics. The schematic in the datasheet shows the 6dB output before the 75ohm series resistor, y...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles
What I'm planning to do is pull the signals from pins 1 and 24, run them through a recreated RC circuit that is a copy of the ones on the board, and then follow the schematics on gamex for the N64 mod. So, I was just checking some things out. I was looking at the schematic for the N64 RGB mod with ...

Re: SNES rebuilt audio dac circuit
Ahhhhhhh! That puts it all into perspective now. It's basically for headphone/really good stereo listening, where you want to hear silence when the game is doing silence, and no background hiss or 60 Hz buzz behind quiet passages. Please excuse my previous critique as if it were going to improve ge...

Re: SNES rebuilt audio dac circuit
Regarding the whole nes stereo separation thing it's really easy to mix the two channels together if you don't like the effect, I just set my amp to mono output on both speakers. Well if you're gonna mix it back into mono anyway, then what's the point of the separation in the first place? I'm not a...
Re: Same PCB
Just looked at the WASABI tool The SwapBin is a pretty cool idea meaning only 2 rewires would be in order 24 -31 and 31 - 24. So from what i have read so far if you have a game that you want that is less than 8Mb all you will need to do is Swapbin your rom desolder your old MaskROM from your donor ...

Re: SNES rebuilt audio dac circuit
Maybe you guys should upload a FLAC comparison somewhere as I can't hear what you guy seem to talk about and I find the un-modded audio in the youtube video Drakon posted better sounding than his modded circuit. But then again I might have a bad hear for those thing. Well, like I said, Drakon has t...

Re: SNES rebuilt audio dac circuit
Also tiido was nice enough to point out that the digital audio signals in the snes are i2s standard. I tried using a straight i2s to analog chip to skip going to spdif and back. It works I can hear the audio but the output is majorly distorted. Oh well. I did the SNES S/PDIF mod just the other day ...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles
I don't remember exactly, and I didn't post the values anywhere so I can't look them up, but I think I remember one of them being 3.321v and the other one being slightly less.

Yes, I'm pretty much planning on doing the same thing. Two things though: One, when I took Pr and...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles
Ah, dammit! I just ordered some of the NJM2267, but I had to order surface mounted because I could only find DIP on eBay from China. I just checked, Mouser has the NJM2268 DIP in stock. :x Well at any rate, I too ordered a couple NJM amps, as well as a few THS7314 amps and a slew of caps. I just wis...
