Re: When you see it...

It took me a while before I saw what was wrong in that picture. I guess I am already used to misspelling on the Internet/in games which often happens on purpose. Is it a problem? Maybe. I always considered English to be an easy-to-use language which somehow manages to still be understandable. German...

Re: Broken "Illusion of Time" cartridge fixable?

@Mottzilla I didn't mean to throw it away if I screwed up the soldering :3 @kyuusaku Now that you say it..The screws that hold the plastic halfs of the case together are a little corroded as well I have no idea what it is, but until now I thought it was just dirt that collected there over the years....

Re: Broken "Illusion of Time" cartridge fixable?

Thanks for the offer pichichi, but I fear the shipping would be more expensive than buying a new (used) game cartridge. So, I think I'm going to try the soldering method. I do have some experience with it, but I have never done something quite like this. I hope it works and if it doesn't...well it w...

Broken "Illusion of Time" cartridge fixable?

Hey guys, first of all, I'm sorry if this is in the wrong category. I wasn't sure if it qualifies as something related to NES hardware, since this topic concerns a SNES game. But anyway, I'll explain my problem now: A while ago I bought a used "Illusion of Time" cartridge for the SNES on a...

Re: NES tile format

@tokumaru It isn't. Or to be honest, it isn't anymore. I now use the linux version of nestopia for testing "if something works" and when I don't need any of the debugging tools that FCEUX offers. From what I know it is just as accurate as the Windows version. (Though NSF playback appears t...

Re: NES tile format

Hrm, I was wrong then. Sorry, if my mistake caused any confusion. Time to read up on some of the wiki pages again :P

@thefox
Yeah I think I remember trying out if they can be combined. Since I have no way of testing on real hardware I used FCEUX. I guess it wasn't the best choice.

Re: NES tile format

Why is the "emphasis bits" a slider? Shouldn't it be arranged as four checkboxes instead? (sort of [ ] B/W [ ] Red [ ] Green [ ] Blue) Edit: This next part is total bogus From what I know the emphasis bits cannot be combined on the NES, so checkboxes could confuse people into thinking tha...

Re: ca65 templates

If you're still looking for a syntax highlighter, I have one for Gedit. It's based on a 6502 Assembler highlighter I found...somewhere. I forgot where I got it from :V I modified it however so now it is very similar to the notepad++ syntax highlighter that was made by miau and banshaku (I think it w...

When dealing with regular GameBoy games you can fit a good number of games into that 64M capacity. Though the menu, on both sides, will take up 1M I think, so if doing multi games you really have 62M I believe. Can you send me a link to the menu program you're talking about? I have one here, but I ...

I happen to own the flashcart you linked to in your post. It works fine with the SGB. (I own a modell 1 SGB for use with the PAL SNES) About the problem of page-switching: The cart only has 2 ROM pages. In other words, you will likely only have two programs/games on it at any given time. Unless you'...

Here is a writeup from the same guy who did the presentation that Movax12 linked to.
However it only says that BRK can get lost when an IRQ happens. NMI supposedly work very similar, but I'm not sure if BRK can be lost here as well.

Have you been using Linux before? If not, don't buy a new laptop just to try it out. But maybe I'm understanding you wrong. Still I'd say dual-boot is the way to go. Buying a second laptop seems unnecessary to me.(Hardware support is improving constantly and it saves space, money and the hassle of u...

Will it be possible for people who don't live in Russia to actually purchase this cart? I saw the "RAM Factory" logo on the cart and I tried to buy their InviteSNES cartridge a while back, but I couldn't pay for it, because I would have needed to have a webmoney account which can only be m...

Looks great!
Will the maps scroll? As far as I remember there was an issue with the map size, am I correct?
So were you able to shrink them without altering them completely or will they scroll even though they're originally intended to be "single screen"?

The GBASP screen has no screws on the inside. It snaps into a black plastic cage and it is difficult to remove and easy to break. You have to be very careful when you open yours. You have to remove all rubber pads on the screen and remove the tri-wing screws behind them. To remove the rubber, withou...
