So you're saying the pin holes got torn? Is there a way to fix that?Tormenter wrote:Looks like you tore several traces on that board.

Haha, nah I actually enjoy this game (well I enjoy every Color Dreams game), it's actually pretty creative and fun. Okay, here's pics of the PCB... maybe a trace is bad or something? The original game worked fine before, I have a feeling something is wrong with the PCB, possibly when I took the chip...

Color Dreams PCB boards question *pics added*
Do I have to use a REV-A board to make an Escape from Atlantis, or do the boards not matter as long as they're the correct mapper and support the ROM size.
Escape from Atlantis is Mapper 11, 64kb PRG/CHR, Captain Comic is Mapper 11, 64kb PRG/CHR
Thanks

What mapper is this? And what's the donor cart? It's possible that the chips will work without rewiring, but if the original CHR-ROM was smaller than the new chip, it might be necessary to connect some address lines from the mapper to it. Mapper 11, Raid 2020 for example http://bootgod.dyndns.org:7...

Quick Question: EPROM size
Can I use two 27c512 chips on a donor cart that has 64k for PRG and 32k for CHR without rewiring? I'm making a cart that has 64k for PRG and CHR and using 27c512 eproms. All donor carts use the same mapper, just some have less ROM size.
Thanks
Thanks

D'oh! haha, well now I know. However, I tried burning Chiller (which is 32kb, mapper 11) and it still didn't work. Quick question- I soldered 32 pin sockets onto a 28-pin board (I removed the extra legs), could this be a reason why it's not working? Either that, or my GQ3X True-USB Willem programmer...

Burning NES eproms
I think I got my eprom burner to work. I split the NES rom into CHR and PRG, then I multiplied each to fit the size of the eprom. However, when I go to load the game (I soldered 2 sockets to the NES cart board), all I get is a gray screen( the donor game worked before, so it's not a matter of dirty ...

I have a Willem GQ3X. I installed the driver and all, but when I connect a blank eprom (CY27C256) it won't recognize it. It just says " Manufacture-Cypress" then "Type-Unknown Device".
Any help is appreciated, thanks!!

Good/Cheap EPROM burner for NES repros
I'm looking for a good, but affordable (between $40-80) USB EPROM burner that's compatible with Windows 7 (64 bit). I thought about getting the TOP2004, but I noticed it doesn't work with Win7. Also, US/Canada item location is preferred. *update, I can use an XP EPROM burner as well now. Any help is...
