Re: Issues with translated EPROM in Lagrange Point cart.
It may use the MMC5 Mask Rom pinout, which is different from the standard NES mask rom pinout.

Re: Glop Top Question
Age can make those epoxy blobs very brittle. I had a copy of Super Momotaro Densetu for PC Engine, and cannibalized the case to make a nice case for my TG16 Everdrive, so I thought I'd take off the protective plastic on the Hu-Card and take a look at the chips under it. The act of bending the hu-car...

Teensy 2.0++ As an EEPROM burner/reader?
As I understand it, you can make a pretty efficient EEPROM burner from a Teensy 2.0++ In fact, I just used one to program some NAND flash chips to downgrade a PS3 two days ago. Anyway, since my 3 PS3s are all downgraded now, I have no real use for the hardware anymore, but I just remembered that I h...

Mega Everdrive For Sale
I have a spare Mega Everdrive I've never really used, and I'm in need of some cash. I got it back in late 2013, made a cart shell for it, tested it, and let it sit on the shelf until now. So, I'm willing to part with it for $100 + shipping to anyone who wants it. The cart has no label, but I'll prin...

Selling items on NesDev forums?
Is this allowed?
I have a spare Everdrive MD, Modded Sega Saturn Model 1, and an S-Video modded Sega Genesis that I'm no longer using, and while I'd usually sell these things on ebay, I'd probably get dinged due to their crap policies.

If you're on the west coast in the US, I'll loan you a Teensy++2.0 and some jumper wires to do so.

Re: Markfrizb's new SNES pcb's, you need them now!!
If you can get 4 for $9 I'd love it if you shared these deals :) Go to Ebay, video games category, wholesale lots, sort by price & buy it now. There's usually someone doing a 3-4 "sports game" pack for $5 with $4 shipping. It's kinda random, but I got 2 of the 4 game packs and it had ...

Re: Markfrizb's new SNES pcb's, you need them now!!
Might be good for a dev board or test board, but I don't see these replacing sports games/Japanese horse racing games as donors.
First of all, I get a free shell for each game with the purchase of my crappy 4 for $9 deals from Ebay.

Would you be willing to share the gerber files for these? I was thinking this might be a good way to make an mother 3 cart with those crappy $3 bootleg GBA carts you can buy on Alibaba, if it was reworked to fit the GBA mask rom pinout (or the chinese pirate one, anyway). I know they use something s...

LP2950 Volt Reg & MX29L3211
I'm trying to do an SO44 repro, and I'm having some problems getting it to boot. Using an MX29L3211MC-10G, with an LP2950 as the voltage regulator, and I'm only getting a black screen. I lifted pins 1, 23, and 33 and soldered the output of the LP2950 to it, but no dice. I'm not sure on the EXACT mod...

Re: weird sram error on upgrade from 16kb to 64kb
I desoldered the chip and found the trace was lifted and hanging on by a bare bit of solder mask.
damn these fragile single-sided boards.

weird sram error on upgrade from 16kb to 64kb
so, I followed this guide: http://www.dbwbp.com/index.php/13-electronic-projects/video-game-related/snes/6-upgrading-ram-in-snes-cart to upgrade the SRAM of a 1A1M-20 board from 16 to 64kb, and I'm getting a WEIRD problem Anything that gets written to the SRAM is offset by 4. I fill zeroes, I get 8k...

Tales of Phantasia on BJ3M?
Using a 2 mask rom BJ3M board as a donor: http://www.snescentral.com/pcbboards.php?chip=SHVC-BJ3M-20 I'm using two TSOP package adapters. P0 has 29F033C with the first 4MB of the ROM. P1 has 29F016B with the last 2MB of the ROM. I know this donor has A21 grounded. So, I'm supposed to wire Cart edge ...
