Looks like somebody already gone and done it.
To my understanding any PS1 game can be converted with Popstation. If i'm wrong, please forgive me. I don't own a PSP, so i don't keep up with it's capabilities and stuff.

I've never seen a shmup-PG before. (shmup + RPG) This looks very good.

Personally, I don't think you should put flags indicating a door. Let the player figure it out, that's half the fun. (remembers prince of persia )
