If you set PB (K) to $40, and DB (B) to $00, then you could read and write to PPU registers with sta $2120 , etc. as you pleased, because those instructions use DB (B). I know a lot of ROM hackers (myself included) who were early adopters of UPS/BPS, headerless ROM images, game folders etc. I admit those people may still be a minority to this day, but the numbers are clearly increasing. Not the ones I've seen. You might want to look harder . :wink: But never mind....
