I highly suggest you do so, that way if the CPU somehow dies again it'll save you a ton of time replacing it.

It won't work on a Twin Famicom, that expansion port on the side is the same as the one on the back of the FDS RAM adapter so it wouldn't fit.

So I got mine today and this little thing is absolutely awesome. It uses a command line program so it's a bit clunky, but it works very well and I'm surprised at how simple the actual board is to use with just that one button.

Re: Is Mega Man 2 easier than the other Mega Man games?

I agree that the randomly moving platforms that shoots beams on Iceman's stage are very hard. Recently I started using the magnet beam to get past those. That section is one of the worst, especially since if you get hit while dropping onto one of the platforms, you can actually fall through the pla...

I'd be interested in a board, PM coming your way.

One other question, does it need special software to preload disk images or is it all drag and drop?

Holy shit that's awesome. I'm assuming that tact switch is for switching disks?

I've swapped around CPUs plenty of times, don't see why it wouldn't work.

LOL, I own that converter and I've never had an issue with using the Gyromite adapter on it.

Re: PowerPak on Famicom AV problem

It's actually screwed together. The screws are hidden behind the rear label so you'd either have to damage the label or use a hair dryer to remove it.

Not unless you tie some kind of ribbon to it, which is what I did with mine. And of course with the top loader there really aren't any issues removing/inserting it.

Re: Electrical componets on NES boards

no it was def a resistor, color codes and all. Couldnt read the bands so i measured it amd got 182 Ohms. It's most definitely a capacitor, if you look closely at the symbol underneath that component, you'll notice that it's the symbol for a non-polarized capacitor and not a resistor. Some axial cer...

14 A is overkill for the NES, why not just use a model 1 Sega Genesis power supply?
