Re: VegaPlay isn't behaving right. Help please
Nice. I found the sounddrv.h inside the MML Bundle, and changed it as you mentioned. It has the same result as when I padded the bytes 0x0093 through 0x00A9 in my nsf with 0xEA. I'm guessing that might be two way to skin the same cat? either way this is good progress. So now I'm unclear on whether y...

Re: VegaPlay isn't behaving right. Help please
Wow, thanks that worked well. Kasumi, your asm made the song selection work alot better cause looping back to song one is now functioning. and lidnariq, your idea made the curser show up in the right places as well as allowed the third track to join the party. Though I might have fibbed when I said ...

Re: VegaPlay isn't behaving right. Help please
Where in the asm do you see $700? I had messed with lines 210 and 217 once before and I changed them to $200 because the help doc said to change it from the default $500 in case I was getting glitchy sprites, which I am, but I'm not concerned with the sprites. All I want is the music to play properl...

VegaPlay isn't behaving right. Help please
Ok so, I'm trying to make a multi song NES cart and I came across vegaplay and thought my prayers were answered. All up until I got about 3 songs into my writing (compiling some tests every step of the way as usual) I noticed that hitting the button for next song it will only go to track 2. Furtherm...

Re: Fixing PPU Audio Buzz
So Blargg, is there nothing I can do to solve my problem? I'm beginning to think My initial success was just a false positive. Though, it sounded just like B00DaW's example in his post: Edit: Here is an amplified clip of a blank NSF. At around 4 seconds I turn the PPU off. There is a marginable amou...

Re: PowerPak audio recording mode (loopy or bunnyboy)
So I've tried disconnecting the Vout (pin 21) on the PPU and the buzzing still remains. I had it working for a short while but then when I went to install the switch, it retuned and remained. Any thought as to what I need to do to get the buzzing to leave?

Re: Fixing PPU Audio Buzz
So I don't know what I did different, But All I did was solder a switch to the video output pin to be able to toggle it on and off, then that buzzing came back and won't go away even with the pin lifted. This is annoying, I even tried a second NES but it didn't work. I have no clue why it worked for...

Re: Fixing PPU Audio Buzz
What's the jumper in the RF doing? And yeah I've already got a preamp module amping the two CPU audio pins. This is the module I have if curious. --> http://lowgain-audio.com/images/NES/NESmod09.jpg I've had another thought. What would happen if I tap into the pin 21 (Vout) of the PPU and build that...

Re: Fixing PPU Audio Buzz
Great tip, Tepples. This isn't exactly possible with MidiNES, but I have had brainstorms about eventually getting PowerPak and loading it with NSF files composed and exported using FamiTracker. Though I hear that it is quite a bit noisier then even an unmodded NES. Something to do with the extra sou...

Re: Fixing PPU Audio Buzz
That is what I suspected. I'm just going to leave things as they are now, with pin 21 lifted. The buzzing is almost disappeared and I suspect the last remaining remnants are going to be impossible to vanquish. I might replace the 200µF power cap later on and also might end up throwing a switch on pi...

Re: Fixing PPU Audio Buzz
Doesn't the NES need the PPU to function? As you are aware, I tried disconnecting the power pin of the PPU making it disabled but the NES was then not functioning. are you sure that removing it entirely would keep my NES functional? Have you or anyone else ever removed the PPU entirely with success?...

Re: Fixing PPU Audio Buzz
While reading tons of forums I've answered my own question.... Disconnecting the vout (pin 21) of the PPU, will cause the buzzing to greatly decrease. It's now at an acceptable level for me. I suppose one could solder a switch on there to be able to regain a video signal, but as it stands now, I hav...

Fixing PPU Audio Buzz
Hello, new forum user here. I've been trying to find something, anything on google to help me figure out how to get rid of the PPU buzzing in Tri, Noise, DPCM audio pin of the CPU. At least I'm assuming that's what is causing it, because changes in graphics cause the buzzing to change pitch sometime...
