Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles

1) Does the video chip say S-ENC anywhere on it or BA6592F ?? This link lists the known chips that this mod will work with: http://nfggames.com/forum2/index.php?topic=3525.0 a) BA6592F b) S-ENC c) S-ENC B BA6594AF If the chip says S-RGB anywhere, this will not work, your SNES unit is too new!! 2) Yo...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles

The decoding of the color green and its lacking level is an inherent problem with the YPbPr Component circuitry of some TV sets. If you go further back in this thread here , I already talked about it somewhat. Below are some shots of the same SNES and amplified Red-Y/Blue-Y output mod using the nati...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles

So I made your circuit inside my SNES and it doesn't help with the image shaking on my 42" plasma :( Any help? The problem isn't with any Red-Y/Blue-Y amplifier circuit, it's the native Luma/Y signal that's the problem here. I have a modern Samsung 19" 720p LCD TV that accepts a 240p sign...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles

I've been chatting with Ace9921 on/off concerning these chips actually. He likes the BA7230LS (you can buy that at the same site you linked) over the BA6592F for custom mod jobs he's been doing and he has a circuit for it. Anyway, I looked up a quote with him from youtube: As for the BA6592F (which ...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles

Here go some quicki screenshots with my USB YPbPr capture device using the latest circuit here with 33 Ohms on the Blue-Y output. Think I'm just gonna have to recommend a 0-100 Ohm pot on the outputs because determining the best value is tricky and given what Mike said about the imbalances which was...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles

Ok, I replaced the 10uF going from the S-Enc to the encoder with a 220uF. The result is the yellow stays great for much longer, but just drains away much more slowly. Instead of draining within 8 seconds like the 10uF it now takes about 30 seconds to drain. I'm not certain what's going on and why t...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles

I wasn't comparing TV's though. The luma is too strong even through capture devices. There was excessive white crush occuring on the picture, I even noticed it on my tvs as well. A 15 Ohm resistor did the trick however. What kind of capture device ?? Cool that it supports 240p via the Component inp...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles

Interesting. So you have it like this: S-ENC output > 10uF cap > 1M R to ground > amp input ? Have you measured the voltage on the amp's input pin? The whole reason for adding the 220uF cap (or that whole RC circuit) was to bring the voltage down before the amp. Also, I wonder if it also affects th...

Re: YPbPr ouput mod for SNES consoles

So my parts arrived today and I rebuilt the amp. Here's the old amp I used: http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff216/Sephiroth1975/General/EarlySNESYPbPrCircuitAmp_zps99c7a3aa.png Tried using the 2N4401 with the schematic you posted for the S8050, actually got some results that were not black and w...
