Amazing work
Quite fantastic that you packed so many features into the 6502 design. Hat off to you.

NESIZER 2, an 2A03 synth project
Just found this project: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXKrs0bFvvk It's still a WIP but from the latest vid sounds very good. It has a ATMega controlling the 2A03, a 1MB sample storage for raw PCM playback and midi IO in addition to a control surface. The github for more info: https://github.com/J...

Re: Drawing your own PCB
Depending on the durability, it probably makes sense for small runs too, if the boards aren't too complex. It's one thing to stuff a prototype board yourself (and the Voltera is supposed to be able to print the solder paste right onto the board without the need for a solder stencil and also serve a...

Re: Drawing your own PCB
There are already home PCB printers either already available, or shortly to enter the market. The Voltera looks the most interesting, I think, since it can print pseudo-2-layer boards. To do that, it lays down the conductive ink, then uses non-conductive ink to build a bridge over the bottom trace,...

Re: Where did spc700 samples come from in the first place?
If someone creates, say, a trumpet patch that "really shines", then couldn't that patch be pasted into the trumpet slot of a General MIDI-ordered patch set? Good question, depends. From the Vogons thread "What did OPL2 cards use before General MIDI?" The AdLib card came with the...

Re: Where did spc700 samples come from in the first place?
The general MIDI patch sets for the FM synthesizer ICs was the worst thing to happen to them :/ Yea FM has it's strengths but it is difficult to design good patches and some timbers just don't work on FM. So back in the dawn of PC gaming, too many game producers just used the SB's midi patch sets (...

Re: Drawing your own PCB
My impression from the article was that it's not 'ready for prime time'. The substrate as well as the ink would need to handle the heat of soldering or maybe a conductive glue. And a dedicated printer or plotter to be useful, IMO. But hey, given a little time could see a system kind of like the 3D p...

Re: PowerPak boot question
I suppose, but the weird part is the 6502 takes quite a long time to init compared to the PIC, so I would think the outputs from the PIC would be settled by the time the 6502 would be ready to read ports (?) When the PIC is up and waiting for incoming Midi ticks, the interface is the same as having ...

Re: PowerPak boot question
Thanks NoveSquirrel I'll pass your patched mapper along for testing. Very strange, any idea why the PP reads port2 during boot?
I'll have to dig into it's manual I guess.

PowerPak boot question
Hi all, I need some info from PowerPak users. I've been working on a soft & hardware project, a version of Vegaplay with midi clock sync input. The hardware is a Midi sync to 24 ppqn PIC circuit feeding the player 2 port. The circuit is powered from the port, but I have run mine from an external...

You may want to look over this thread page if you haven't seen it: http://forums.nesdev.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=7912&start=195 Though there isn't a direct fix for dumping your saves, it may give some ideas. I looked over the scripts in unagi 062 and I can't offer useful help. The MMC3.ag see...

Re: InfiniteLives: Anyone have his contact info?
Does CR2025 fit? BT-HLD-001-TH is supposed to work with 2032 and 2025. And 2025 is 0.7mm shorter. So, probably. How are you supposed to space it properly when it's being mounted? I was looking at using a SMT version of this kind of battery holder, not for this reason, but seems it would not have th...
