Re: First time cart making, I need some help.
Am27C256 is a 32Kx8 parallel UV EPROM. Its pinout matches the 32KBytes pinout seen the old doc and in the wiki page . Vpp needs to be be 12.75 V during writes. Might you have confused bits and bytes? Yes. Yes I have. It seems the NESdev ROM Pinouts are organized by KBytes, not KBit. I was comparing...

Re: Looking for some help on the INL Dumper/Programmer...
Does it have a dumping plugin for BNROM or Color Dreams? If so try using those, as they have the same PRG bank behavior as AMROM. This list of scripts includes: cnrom, fj2, mmc1skrom, mmc1surom, mmc3, mmc5, taitox1, unrom, and vrc 1-7. The tutorial I looked at had anrom in a screenshot, but it does...

Re: Kazzo USB rom dumper / dev cart programmer
Yeah only real change is the .hex file, so all you need to do is update the firmware with to update to this release. The only other thing may be the included erase files. Added features for this release include support for flashing mapper28, mapper0, and nsf mapper. OK great! Good to hear 'bout add...

Re: Kazzo USB rom dumper / dev cart programmer
I released a new one ~2 weeks ago. I agree about the versioning, right now the only way to tell is the date. Next release I'll try to make this more clear and make note of things in a change log. Just DLed the latested, and had a couple questions. I've been using the 2013-8-19 firmware, do I need t...

Re: Help with the Kazoo cartridge "INL Retro" Dumper-Program
Okay so I checked the chip and it is indeed a 256K chip. I have tested the rom in a emulator and it works just fine with no issues. I read about stripping the header off the rom and did so, I am using software called NES Mapper, which shows information about the rom, compatible donor boards, allows...

Re: Help with the Kazoo cartridge "INL Retro" Dumper-Program
OK the basics are covered, I know that all the above is covered in the read-me but sometimes restating helps. To check the size of the flash chip: look for the rectangular chip marked with SST in large print; below that print you should see smaller print that reads 39SF020. this is the flash rom. Th...

Re: Help with the Kazoo cartridge "INL Retro" Dumper-Program
I'm not an expert, but I have seen the '116' after I do something incorrect :) Try to reboot the Kazzo to reset the firmware. I ran into minor confusion with the wrong 'erase' header ( was the original Anago erase file) or when I had the boot loader switch wrong. Do double check to make sure: 1. You...

Re: INL-ROM v2 flash 'simple' dev/repro USB boards
Oh no worries, I didn't feel that way. So glad to hear, (so very hard to tell on the interwebbes sometimes) I'm glad you've brought this up, as sound capabilities has been a goal of the atmega version. That and it's a very minor mod to the board to allow for TTL flashing arduino style with an exter...

Re: INL-ROM v2 flash 'simple' dev/repro USB boards
I hope I didn't give the impression that I was criticizing, it really wasn't my intent. I'm very impressed with your work and want to see a midi synth happen. Well the project isn't intended to be a mapper development tool, the intent is for me to design the mapper and supply it for game development...

Re: INL-ROM v2 flash 'simple' dev/repro USB boards
I've got it setup for re-flashing the AVR via a USB bootloader, it's the same way you're able to update the firmware on your kazzo. So it's the same chip as an arduino, but significantly simpler/cheaper to program. I assumed you would have a bootloader. I was just thinking about the development env...

Re: INL-ROM v2 flash 'simple' dev/repro USB boards
You mean flashing the atmega via the cart edge? If so yes, I connected the SPI signals to the EXP port. But that's not only for programming the avr, primary purpose for routing those signals there would be to program a SPI flash. I know you're in early stages ATM, but at some point do you think the...

I gave a heads up about the INL-ROM cart to the chip music crowd @ ChipMusic.org

The SXROM flash cart is a god send for running Pulsar and PR8. Thanks again!

INL SXROM .sav dumping
I thought I should start a new thread for new users that want to run Pulsar or PR8 on INL's SXROM cart. I will cover moving sav files on and off the cart for use with Nestopia. You need the Flasher download from INL's page (but you should have this if you loaded Pulsar onto your cart). It includes \...

Re: NOT!-Having trouble with new INL dumpper/SXROM flash car
For the erase, set to 'Header' and use the ./ROMS/ERASE_PRG.bin instead of the ./bin-rom images/erase_header.bin. Hmmm... not sure how that guy got in there. Thanks for pointing that out, I can see how that would have been confusing. I pulled that whole folder from the release dir. Well... IF I had...

NOT!-Having trouble with new INL dumpper/SXROM flash card
Just got my INL retro dumper and a SXROM flash card. Having trouble with my first session trying to flash the card. So Far: On a XP Home lappy, couldn't run INL retro-prog v1.1beta, 'Failed to Init'. Anago seemed to work, dumped a SNROM PRG but couldn't work out the ram save. But ATM this can wait. ...
