A17 / A18 wiring
Quick question about these pins for EPROMS. Do you only need to wire pin 30/31 ONLY if your EPROM size is 256k or higher?

Re: NES Game cartridge pin clean up
Yup! Altho even tho I had no idea, I had some aluminum polish for one of my guitars and it worked. Mentioned it to everyone I knew thats into these. Its a pain in the ass but guaranteed. BTW I think the amount you use depends on the problem. Ive had some carts CAKED with crud I just couldn't get off...

Re:
Yes, I guess you could modify any TKROM and TSROM board easily to have TLSROM like mirroring. As you said, connect CIRAM A10 (on the cart edge) on CHR A16 (MMC3) instead of normal CIRAM A10 (MMC3) pin. Also make sure your hack work with mapper 118 before doing that. Just to be clear, do you mean MM...

Re: stuck creating repro dejavu / earthbound zero
You bend up pin 24 and solder a wire from it to pin 16 thats not bent up. pin 16 is the GRD

Re: stuck creating repro dejavu / earthbound zero
These always come to mind:
A) Cart is dirty (it looks it)
B) Not enough solder on the chip legs?
C) When desoldering you ripped off part of the board, or metal tracks.
D) Maybe you didn't ground the PRG to pin 16 correctly?

Re: Ugh, Snow Brothers repro problems?
Im just assuming that if anyone else has made one the same way with no problems its just the board. I was just interested if anyone else had any of the same problems because its something in the programming. If anyone here made one for themselves the same way without any problems i'd just try again ...

Re: Ugh, Snow Brothers repro problems?
bumping this. I took apart the game, and in order of troubleshooting I soldered the connections better, then I took it apart and re-wired it, then I took the chips off the board and I didn't switch the PRG or CHR AND I even re-verified em against their bin files and they were good. This is TOTALLY b...

Re: Duck Tales 2 Repro
Im sure Duck Tales 2 uses UNROM with IMO is the MOST ANNOYING board to do. The reason is, for 128KB chips, Nintendo uses 28 pin mask roms, but the EPROMS are 32 pins. Now for games that use an MMC1 mapper and up, there are extra holes already drilled into the board. But this uses the mapper before i...

Re: Ugh, Snow Brothers repro problems?
Im using a donor of Hook, not a self made or INL board. Sorry should have posted that info first. I can only think of it as some kind of mapper version incompatibility (even tho they're identical). This is a bit too heady for me right now but I thought it might have to do with this: http://forums.ne...

Ugh, Snow Brothers repro problems?
I thought i was done with questions but this one def boggles my mind. Trying to make a Snow Bros repro. Got a board even with a MMC1B3 mapper. Chips burned fine, everything soldered in perfect, wires too, cart clean as a whistle. Nothing? I've done about 30 games for myself now and I can't figure th...

Quick question SAROM wiring?
Hey all. So I got a quick question. I wanna make a Super Mario Brothers Special cart. Info is: MMC1, PRG 64kb, CHR 32KB, PRG RAM 8KB (implied), Battery backup 'yes'. So I grabbed an SAROM. Im not sure but do I need to rewire because of the 64KB PRG? I ask because I made a VS. SMB using SAROM and did...

Re: Graphic problem with Splatterhouse MMC3 Hack
If they were identical but different sizes it would say that but it didnt. When I split it using the famirom program their differences are the same from when I compared the two .nes files. I have no idea why it changed it. Also if this doesnt work i'll just end up without the translated title screen...

Re: Graphic problem with Splatterhouse MMC3 Hack
Now this is confusing. So I have two different version of this game hex wise. One where I applied the translation patch, THEN the MMC3 patch and the other where the MMC3 patch was FIRST and the translation patch was last. The files in their .nes state are different (in the CHR bank) BUT when i split...

Re: Graphic problem with Splatterhouse MMC3 Hack
I translated it and then applied your mmc3 patch and in the CHR bank files ARE different. I hope that'll fix that problem. I'll wire it up over the weekend.
