I second this. Simple enough for beginners, capable enough for everyone else.

Perhaps this'll help out if you actually decide on asm6. Someone made macros for nesasm's iNES header directives: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12766

Re: Up-to-date SNES assembler binaries

Anyone want structs inside structs with WLA? Because it seems Ville just added support for it.

Re: Favorite Final Fantasy

None of us play Final Fantasy games just for the visuals. At least I'd expect that of a site dedicated to the nes. XD

And if you think Doom has more strategy, that just proves that you've never actually tried to play through a Final Fantasy.

Someone just said RPGs don't take strategy.

Welp. I've heard it all.

Favorite Final Fantasy

With the announcement of Square Enix putting FF7 on the PS4, I couldn't help but notice that in the comments section of Kotaku's article on this, some people really seemed to hold something against the game. I really don't get why. Maybe it's because 7 brought me into the series, but I don't see any...

The fact that far less people are apart of it it really amazes me about the 16-bit homebrew scene.
Sorry, forgot to say that the 16-bit homebrew scene seems the same way. People come and don't want to leave. Heheh.

That is something that really amazes me about the 8-bit homebrew scene. Both the people on this forum and on SMS Power have been here for many years and have no plans on leaving...what a devotion.

Re: Nice Guy

Everyone at my school who calls themselves a programmer just knows how to use basic functions of Javascript and knows how to say "Is it plugged in?". They certainly take a lot more cred than I do, though.

Re: I Made a Pong Thing

I hardly ever do any kind of work without source control! It's so useful, especially the file history stuff, but continual backup is a great side-effect. If you're looking for free private source control, I recommend: assembla.com Thanks for the recommendation. I'm a good fan of GitLab though, with...

Re: I Made a Pong Thing

Aren't you using github? How did you manage to suffer a large data loss? It would probably help. In fact, it would most definitely help. I'll keep the usage of github in mind. Usually my stuff doesn't go there until after it's all finished up, but eh, that's not exactly the purpose of git repositor...

Re: I Made a Pong Thing

(The wonderful triple post, I know).

Anyone else had to deal with plain frustrating loss of data? As it appears my nearly finished port of this game to the nes has been destroyed. Great.

Whatever, I've been getting sick of Pong anyway. (I'll stop complaining now).

Things just tend to blow up when people argue about religion and politics in the sense of what people ought to do in the real world apart from the mission of this forum. To me the big problem is that some people just don't think others deserve the right to be different from them and have individual...

Re: How fast are you people at programming?

On the original subject of how fast people can program: for me it depends. C - there's always a pesky bug that hinders anything and everything I try to do. In the end it always takes forever to do anything. Z80 - I can work fairly fast with it. Usually my problem is carelessness and stupid little mi...
