Re: SMB 2-player Hack?

https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/nes/images/4180screenshot1.png 10 years later, this dream has become a reality. A ROM hack was recently released that adds the ability to play 2-players simultaneously in Super Mario Bros. You may find it here: https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/4180/ Incredible to se...

Re: "Super Mario Bros." hack with a two-player simulatenous

https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/nes/images/4180screenshot1.png Just for anyone who comes across this thread in the future, thought I’d mention that a multiplayer mod of Super Mario Bros has been released recently. Okay. Is cutting the trace a better way of doing it, or lifting the pin, in your opinion?

Question about NES Overclocking

Hello! I'm thinking about overclocking my NES by follow this tutorial: https://nobitleftbehind.wordpress.com/2014/07/28/how-to-overclock-the-nes/ While looking through the tutorial, I came across the part where you are to disable the Master Clock, which is achieved by cutting the trace on the board....

NES Red/Multi-Color LED?

Hello all! :D I'm thinking about adding an over clock switch to my NES by following this tutorial: https://nobitleftbehind.wordpress.com/2014/07/28/how-to-overclock-the-nes/ An optional step is to change the LED so the LED switches color when it's in over clock mode. At the same time, I've seen NES ...

Thanks :) This is really great!

Just wondering... Do you think this should post should be stickied? So we don't have a whole bunch of posts with the same goal?

You don't have to if you don't want to, but since you already worked on a seal, want to turn this Cobrat into a seal? Image (One headed). I don't want you to do it if you don't want to though. Thanks :)

Re: The Pixel Art Request Thread

What do you mean by "seal"? Definition of seal 1 : a sea mammal that swims with flippers, lives mostly in cold regions, bears young on land, feeds on fish and other sea animals (as squid), and is sometimes hunted for its fur, hide, or oil 2 : the soft fur of a seal noun Definition of seal...

The *Official* Pixel Art Request Thread

I don't know if this is allowed or not here, but I thought of a good idea for a thread. The rules are simple. Someone submits an request for pixel art, then others can contribute by drawing it. It allows people to practice their art skills as well as help others. Here's my first request: I would lik...

Re: Early NES Motherboard and CPU info 1985

Coincidence. I have two NES-CPU-07s. One has a 13 on the door (S/N N11224416), and the other has a 5 (S/N N19551709). I'd guess that's the mold #, since any given injection mold is only good for around a million total uses before it needs to be replaced, and Nintendo made a lot more than 1M NESes. ...

Re: Early NES Motherboard and CPU info 1985

Can someone try this for me? I saw it when I was taking apart my NES yesterday. My board revision is 4. If you open the door on the toaster NES, there is a upside down number (just rotate your head to read it). Thing is, that number is also 4. Is this a coincidence, or can this tell you the board re...

Re: INL Board doesn't fit CHR

Is the problem that the black rectangle (labelled "IDT 71256 SA15YGI TT1440P") is holding the IC up too far? If so, I fear you were shipped a CHR-RAM board by accident. Unless there's a jumper somewhere to disable it. Yes, that's exactly the problem. I thought it was CHR RAM, because afte...
