Perfect. Thank you. One more thing. The 512 in 27C512, does that stand for Kilobits or Kilobytes? I'm assuming it's Kilobytes.

Re: Is this cart good for VS. SMB Home edition?
On some level, all you need is a CIC and an MMC1. The only question is how much rework you want to do... However, usually it'd be better to match CHR-RAM to CHR-RAM and CHR-ROM to CHR-ROM, because 8KiB RAMs are a little more annoying to come by after the fact, so for a CHR-ROM result, and all else ...

Is this cart good for VS. SMB Home edition?
So... I'm hoping to make a cart of VS. SMB Home edition by Rusted Logic. It has a MMC1 mapper and uses a battery. Comparing information on NesCartDB, I found NES Open Tournament Golf http://bootgod.dyndns.org:7777/profile.php?id=703 . Will this cart work? Just want to make sure before I buy it. Than...

Good to know, thanks! What is 8742 MCUs used for? Never heard of then, so I take it their not for NES.Joe wrote:I have one, though so far I've only used it for dumping ROMs. It's a pretty sturdy device, and it's fast.
My only disappointment is that it doesn't support 8742 MCUs.

Re: Question about donor-cartridge for altered SMB2-game
As a side note, the redesigned NES (The one with the top loader) does not have a lockout chip, so if your planing on playing it on that, there is no need to worry about the lockout chip. Just keep in mind if you play it on a different toaster NES, the lockout chip will need to be disabled, or you wi...
