Re: M27C160 Eproms and SNES - 8 Bit mode?? Anyone experience
I am happy to say the problem is solved! Thank you Ice Man! Right after you posted up the diagram, Muramasa contacted me and indeed confirmed that is correct for LoRom PCB's, and HiRom was just as you had said. I was able to salvage both of my socket boards and fix the LoRom/HiRom jumpers. Thank you...

Re: M27C160 Eproms and SNES - 8 Bit mode?? Anyone experience
Then I must be lucky with EPROMs cause from all orders I had when started using them around 6 years ago I had only 10 faulty. Either way, for the jumpers, try these options (either for LoROM or HiROM). https://imgur.com/a/OURSK Or if you're living in Europe, send me the boards and EPROMs and I will...

Re: M27C160 Eproms and SNES - 8 Bit mode?? Anyone experience
I'm starting to see why! LoL! I have been at this for only about a month now and had my confidence built up being able to do M27C801's with ease on my first attempt, as well as program my own PIC12F629's! Then I got into these 16meg Eproms and I can understand why people are going with TSOPs and the...

Re: M27C160 Eproms and SNES - 8 Bit mode?? Anyone experience
I get video signal in, just a black screen. I can tell because when I have no CIC in the board, I get no video signal due to the circuit not being complete. When I put my cic back it the board, I get signal, but a black screen. My TV says "No Signal" on the screen when it has no A/V signal...

Re: M27C160 Eproms and SNES - 8 Bit mode?? Anyone experience
I have contacted Muramasa but haven't got a response. It's been about a week or so ago. Those jumpers have 3 pads on LoRom, HiRom, and a row in the center for LoRom/HiRom. When I do a continuity test on the jumper, with all 3 points bridged, I get signal from the jumper to the pins that go into the ...

Re: M27C160 Eproms and SNES - 8 Bit mode?? Anyone experience
My jumper settings are J1=pin 1 and 2 short (forM27C160), J2 jumpers not used on GQ-4x4, as there are no address pins on the programmer PCB for them to go to, and J5 I have tried writing in v3 and v4 modes with no change in results. http://i67.tinypic.com/ac5vdx.jpg I will take a few more pics of so...

Re: M27C160 Eproms and SNES - 8 Bit mode?? Anyone experience
That what I have done. I made 2 socket boards, one for LoRom, one for HiRom, did continuity check on the boards as I soldered to make sure each solder point had continuity, and one final check after I'm all finished, and I get nothing. Tried 20 different M27C160s all with the same results.

Re: M27C160 Eproms and SNES - 8 Bit mode?? Anyone experience
Therein lies the problem. If I were working with a donor board that had a MAD-1... The PCB's I am using are new ones from Muramasa. There is no spot for anything other than my PIC12F629 SuperCIC, my eprom, 1 6.3v aluminum cap, and 2 50v ceramic caps. These boards are designed to be used with 27C160 ...

Re: M27C160 Eproms and SNES - 8 Bit mode?? Anyone experience
I'm using a GQ-4x4 with the latest software. It does give me a byte swap option which swaps the buffer hi-low byte. I have tried this option when writing but it didn't seem to make a difference. I would assume this would be used if I were using a donor PCB and didn't want to do as much rewiring (lik...

M27C160 Eproms and SNES - 8 Bit mode?? Anyone experienced?
I have been trying for days to successfully get 2mb games to write and read with no luck. 1mb games seem to work just fine. I've been thinking it's an issue with my programmer, as it uses a 16bit adapter for writing to M27C160s, but my chips blabk check, write and verify just fine, but will not load...

Re: Anyone Experienced Using GQ-4x4 Programmer?
I am using an AC adapter. I can toggle between 9v and 12v, it is 1300mah. I have tried with and without it and no change. Specs on the AC adapter match 2.1mm ID center positive. I am using the rear USB ports on the motherboard and I made sure it is the only device plugged into that set of ports. It ...

Re: Anyone Experienced Using GQ-4x4 Programmer?
I am using a GQ-4x4 Programmer on a Dell OptiPlex Desktop PC with Windows 10 64-bit OS. I have installed the GQ USB Driver 3.0 and GQUSBPrg 7.15 from mcumall.com Downloads, although I noticed just last night when I start the USBPrg upon startup, it says "USB Driver Re.1.0 (is this normal even t...

Anyone Experienced Using GQ-4x4 Programmer?
I have had this programmer for almost a month now and I love having the ability to write to PIC12F629 and M27C801 IC's, but I can't seem to get this 16 bit adapter to work for writing to M27C160, M27C800, or any AMD 27C series IC's. I've tried so many different things, but have had no luck. I can gl...
