Why do you keep showing pictures of dusty old hardware? What do those boards do, exactly? You're being very vague and confusing...

The only way I was able to get my copynes to work (for windows xp) was to buy a PCI parallel card. A NetMos 9805, I believe. None of my machines on board parallel ports work with copynes. Mind telling me how you got it to work? The PCI card I bought used the same chip, and I couldn't get it to do a...

You might as well write your own game from scratch, because there's no way in hell you're "backwards porting" an SNES game to the NES without the source code (and even then, it'd take a herculean amount of effort). Here's just a few of the problems you'd encounter: - converting 16-bit code...

Would the parallel port cards you can buy be useful? They sell for a few dollars at the local computer store. I bought one from CompUSA that contained a "MOSCHIP" controller, and it didn't work. Not surprising, since it wouldn't even show (let alone allow me to change) the port's address ...

Trivia of the Day: Most of SMB2's DMC samples (Birdo hit, doors opening, etc.) are merely recordings of the original Doki Doki Panic FDS sounds.

In the past, I've found banning Hamtaro to be an effective method of getting him to shut up.

...well, the only method, really.

Just a suggestion.

Just out of curiosity, why is the CopyNES so picky about what parallel ports it can use? I've had a grand total of two computers that could communicate with the thing, one of which is now dead. -_- (The dead one was a rather nice Athlon system, too. An Athlon with a non-buggered LPT port, what a rar...

For my nearly-defunct SMW hack, I actually made an external program that plays MP3 files: http://www.rustedmagick.com/misc/smomp302.png The way it works is really simple: the game writes a track number and play/stop command to a couple of specific RAM addresses, which are then intercepted by the pla...

Don't forget that SMW (hack) is a severly hacked up version of SMB3, so SMW should go w/o saying... There also seems to be an assumption that SMW is a Hong Kong Original, but if memory recalls correctly, it was done by a young American working at a fast food joint. I think you're confusing the SMW ...

I have two Genesis 2s, each with a completely different motherboard: Revision 0? Revision 2.3? Notice the lack of a YM3438 on the first board. My guess is that it's integrated into one of the custom SEGA chips (the video chip, maybe?). Also, one of the boards has the distorted/overdriven sound probl...

bunnyboy, you are my hero. My cart is revived. Thank you so very much! ^_^

Just out of curiosity, why aren't these files on your website (or any other site, as far as I can tell) if they're required for the update process?

Updating PowerPak via CopyNES--help please!

Could someone please tell me step-by-step how I'm supposed to do this? I have the latest CopyNES DOS software, PowerPak boot ROM, etc. I have also performed the flash cart mod as shown on kevtris's site. I tried all three RAM cart options (NRAM, CNRAM, UfROM), and now I'm left with a dead PowerPak. ...
