Re: Snes SD3 Hardtype Kazzo
Do you have any other flash solution with which to test the ROM on your Super NES, such as the SNES PowerPak, Super EverDrive, or sd2snes? No sir, I don't. However... http://www.memegasms.com/media/created/vhyfxm.jpg I have it working! Turns out, the hack was indeed at fault. ...

Re: Tengen Mapper 64 conversion ? ( Shinobi Arcade NES )
A RAMBO-1 game would need to be patched to use a more common board. The exact target for such a hack would probably be either MMC3 or FME-7, depending on which features of the RAMBO-1 the game actually uses.
Or you could use a PowerPak, which has (at least partial) support for the RAMBO-1.

nintendo2600's answer still works: test the different possibilities on the PowerPak to find which one works correctly.

PowerPak answers "How do I play the ROM on my NES?" The original question was "How do I identify the ROM image of Earthbound Beginnings (formerly Earthbound Zero) that works correctly on an NES?"

Re: Another new user with annoying questions! (Kazzo Program
To rule out reliance on an emulator, you can try running the games on SNES PowerPak or Super EverDrive. Nowadays, I'd guess that original homebrews are less likely to rely on emulator bugs than ROM hacks. Most Super Mario World hacks, for example, run correctly ...

I have it wired to give output on an eternal phono jack through a 1Kohm trim pot.

Re: what chips do you guys use?
A lot of us use a PowerPak or EverDrive to test daily builds. For making a permanent copy, I think most of us use flash memory, a variant of EEPROM that erases a whole page at a time. These are usually 29F series, or sometimes SST's ...
