Trying to dump my first NES game... :)

Hello Everyone! I'm a neophyte to dumping and almost everything else, I'm just a nostalgic gamer that loves retrogaming. As a kid I had this Multi-Cart named Super 190-in-1. I'd never seen it's ROM released anywehere, so after years of waiting, I decided to do it myself. So I grabbed a copy on eBay and purchased the "INL Retro" Dumper-Programmer v2. So far by searching on Google, I was able to install the drivers for it, downloaded a GUI (https://arekuse.net/blog/tech-guides/ro ... mment-8121) and generated some dumps randomly messing with the parameters, most of my dumps load the intro menu with sound and glitched video. It doesn´t do much else, if you try to load a game you either get back to the menu immediatly or get a black screen.

Soooooo.... Would anybody could help me generate a good dump please? Thanks in advance!

Usually, we'd like photos of the label on the cart and I'd like pictures of the PCB inside. Some other people can go from a list of games to a known already-dumped multicart, but that may not be true here.

Thanks for your quick reply! I can provide with the photos of the cartdrige, as for the PCB I wouldn't know how to open it... It doesn't have any visible screws. The link I shared in my post contains the list of games.

Pretty sure I have the same one, and if I remember correctly, it doesn't open with screws. Seemed like it was glued or something; I didn't have the guts to pry it open myself...

It looks like it's a snap fit. I was sent a copy of Policeman with a snap fit; I can open it by grabbing on both front and back near one side, and then pulling the back side up/away from the center and the front side down/towards the center.

Goose2k's photo looks like I can actually see the clips, too.

You are right! I was able to open it up by kind of pinching the front (the side with the pictures). Here's what I got. Let me know if you need anything else:

Oh wow! Yeah! It seems identical on the menu and list of games. I noticed from my dumps that this cart has extra menu music tracks that my original didn't have, that one had only like 2 songs. So there could be variations of the same Multi-cart IDK.

In all my years collecting ROMs I came across a game that has the same menu but it is only 150 games and the main feature seems to be Contra that had many hacks to start with different weapons and stuff. That ROM I can share. Maybe by viewing its data can reveal ROM sizes, palettes and stuff to start producing better dumps and hopefully a proper dump.

If open the cart could truly help dumping it I could do that. As I purchesed it fot that purpose. I could try to find a tutorial on how to properly open it.

Were you referring to my cart? Should I try to just pry it open as you describe?

I think both of ours should be snap carts solidhyunkel. Here's what's going on inside to help you navigate it if you end up trying to open it. You basically need to pitch half the cart really hard so that the latch gets released. I did one at a time.

Unfortunately, there isn't quite enough information for me to be confident about reverse engineering this board. It might be mapper 62 or mapper 225, or it might be yet another that's similar but different. If you're willing to sit down with a multimeter and measure continuity I can do the rest. (see this thread)

Even more unfortunately, there's a part on these boards that will make it difficult to dump using a Kazzo or INL RetroDumper, and it'll have to be disabled or removed. The cart should work fine afterwards - it just won't go back to the menu when you hit reset. But without the modification, it won't be possible to dump anything but the menu.
