So I completed my third thing. I did this to A) learn how to work with variables, B) learn how to create sprites, and C) figure out how to work with button presses.
My plan with this is to figure out stuff as I go (getting help only when I need it) so that eventually I will be able to create a game. I'm not ready to make a game yet, but I am getting there.
(BTW I'm programming in C to begin with, then I plan to learn 6502 ASM and switch to that.)

Cool! Look like you're on your way to be able to make a game.

Nice.
If that was intended, the first chord in Sega's sound mark is supposed to be an E flat major.ccovell wrote:SEEEGAAAA?!?

Sorry, I'm not fluent with music language. Could you perhaps tell me how I would do that in FamiTracker? Also, yes, it was intended. As a way of trollingtepples wrote:Nice. If that was intended, the first chord in Sega's sound mark is supposed to be an E flat major.ccovell wrote:SEEEGAAAA?!?
EDIT: Removed whitespace has been removed.
ANOTHER EDIT: I originally tried to do it with DPCM, but I couldn't figure out how to get DPCM working with FamiTone. (Which is one of the reasons why I dislike the driver)
YET ANOTHER EDIT: A bug I've discovered is that if you play sound #3 (the SEEEGAAAAAAAAAA one) and then play sound #5 when its done, sound #5 will sound wrong. I'm guessing it's a bug with FamiTone or something.
YET ANOTHER EDIT: How many more edits am I going to make, anyway?

Unlike Sega fans, which loathe Nintendo (and even makes up trolls of Megadrive's CPU being so called superior of SNES' just because of the MHz number), we do not have prejudice for or against Sega. I just don't own any games or consoles form them so I can't juge. However it looks like the game library is relatively weak compared to Nintendo's console (at least in the genre of games I like). Also, yes, it was intended. As a way of trolling

Re: My third thing!
The Z80 and 68000 CPUs in Sega consoles have lower IPC than the 6502-family CPUs used in the same-gen Nintendo consoles. For example, a 6502 does roughly twice as much in each cycle as Z80, so 1.8 MHz NES vs. 3.6 MHz SMS is a wash. And I found a metric called gencycles that captures roughly how many 68000 cycles correspond to a 65816 cycle in a given area of SNES memory. There are a few architectural wins in the 68000, but they're not nearly as dramatic as Sega and its fanboys made them out to be back in the day.Bregalad wrote:Unlike Sega fans, which loathe Nintendo (and even makes up trolls of Megadrive's CPU being so called superior of SNES' just because of the MHz number)
Naxatsoft, on the other hand, hid a secret anti-Sega intro in the near-bullet-hell shoot-em-up Recca for Famicom.we do not have prejudice for or against Sega.

Way to generalize things, buddy! I'm sure there are lots of people like me who don't feel the need to hate any particular console/company and can see the merits in all of them.we do not have prejudice for or against Sega.
You mean RPGs? Yeah, I guess SEGA consoles are indeed pretty weak in that area, but from what I here there are a handful of acclaimed titles. However it looks like the game library is relatively weak compared to Nintendo's console (at least in the genre of games I like).

Re: My third thing!
Okay I admit it was generalized a bit too much, but the general consensus is like this, or at least I feel like it's like this. Sega fans are really hardcore and will vomit at any non-Sega system. Part of this might be due to recent Sonic games being released on Nintendo systems, and I've hear they suck (however I haven't played any Sonic game - recent or old - period so I can't tell).
I don't doubt there is RPGs on Sega consoles but I have never owned nor played any of them so I just can't tell how good/bad they are.

It sounds more like a transposed version of the SMS Sega Sound from the BIOS.

There are not 10949230490329203402394x10²³ RPG titles like the SNES has, but a couple of remarkable ones exist, such as the beforementioned Phantasy Star, Landstalker and Soleil.Bregalad wrote: I don't doubt there is RPGs on Sega consoles but I have never owned nor played any of them so I just can't tell how good/bad they are.
