Micro Knight & Micro Knight 2 - my homebrew games

Post by sdm »

Although 6502 programming I'm doing it poorly, but slowly something I succeed. For now simple demo, but plans to make the game an old-style 8bit computers. :)

Played it for a little bit, not bad.

Some complaints:
- The very first time playing it it was kind of hard to tell where the player was at first (there are various ways that this could be hilighted when the level starts)
- Ladders are too hard to climb since the player has to be positioned pixel-perfect

1. Wait until vblank to make changes to $2001. If you turn rendering on (or off) in the middle of a frame, you get half a frame of garbage onscreen.

2. I can manage to climb the first level, but I always run out of time before the second. How did you get to a floor 4??? I find it really hard just getting past that bird that moves in a square at the bottom left.

I really like your small backdrop art in the later screenshots. It reminds me of the dark forest-like level in Nemesis II (MSX).

Just curious...
Did Poland get PAL NES's or Dendy's, or perhaps none of the above...?

Made it to the end. Don't think I could have made it with out save states though. Fun! Looking forward to what you come up with next.

I believe they had clones called "Pegasus", with lots of Codemasters games on them for some reason.

I am trying to do something to be able to jump and shoot.
The difficult thing for me, but we'll see what comes out of this :)
