2019 NESDev Compo RESULTS
If people have been following along on Discord this may not be news to you, but I've posted the results of the competition on the website. Thank-you to everyone for entering the competition this year!
Böbl 54.15
Nalleland 50.18
Blockage 42.12
Veggie Invaders 41.51
Nin Nin 40.51
Save The Kuin 40.05
Falling Tiles 38.55
Bloodfall 36.62
nnnnnn 36.11
Super City Mayor 32.13
Hot Dance 2020 23.07
Updates
Action53Vol4 is ready to go into production. There were some supply issues and the boards had to be redesigned, but hopefully we can get things going again once the new shipment arrives. This is going to be our biggest and best release yet! Once production begins we will correspond with the entrants of previous years (who still haven't received a multi-cart prize).
In the meantime, instead of waiting for a full volume, entrants of the 2019 compo will be receiving a "trophy" cartridge that will just contain the entries from that year. That way there will be less wait time to receive prizes in the future.

I'm missing the screenshots and descriptions, seems the last two compo pages don't have them.

That is true, I'm in the process of updating them. I was going to wait till I finished those to post this, but I figured people want to see the results!

Is it possible to get a rough ETA for when they would be ready to purchase? Need to order some other stuff from infiniteneslives.com and am wondering whether it's worth delaying my order for just a few more weeks...NESHomebrew wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 12:19 pm

You would have to contact them directly. No point in me being a middle-manBananmos wrote: ↑Fri Jul 03, 2020 5:50 amIs it possible to get a rough ETA for when they would be ready to purchase? Re: 2019 NESDev Compo RESULTS
Congratulations to the winners for their very impressive entries!
Games like Böbl, Nalleland and Falling Tiles (my personal top #3) are a real inspiration and motivation to keep working on my own game and make it better! (Bloodfall, ranked #8 :p).
Congratulations to every other entrants too, as I really enjoyed playing such a diverse and fun selection of games.
@NesHomebrew: when you'll have time, do you think it'll be possible to have any comments from the judges on our entries? (or the score per item) - that'll be very helpful to improve my game!
Anyway, thanks again for running such a cool competition, and I'm already looking forward participating again the next year!

Vol. 4 actually has a number of updates/reissues from some earlier volumes. I should have its itch page up soonish. Meanwhile, check out the first three volumes at action53.itch.io if you haven't come across them yet.

There will be a number of changes made before the cut-off. Our current focus will be Vol4, and we still don't have an ETA for that. Boards have been ordered I believe, but none of the paper products have been sent to print as far as I know.

Re: 2019 NESDev Compo RESULTS
Regarding paper products, INL does those in house, and the files have long been supplied, so that shouldn't be a hold up.

Re: 2019 NESDev Compo RESULTS
The 2019 games will be on Vol5, as well as the "trophy" cartridges whatever we decide those will be. Going forward I think it makes more sense to make a large compilation every couple of competitions so we can provide better value.
