Games and highscores

Sort-of yeah, mapper 0 implies no mapper. So how is the WRAM mapped in? I guess that's why some emus don't like it, it's decided to be an impossible cartridge. But in practice of course, blocking this only creates headaches for developers.oRBIT2002 wrote:Are there any hardware limitations preventing battery RAM to work with mapper 0 carts?
Highscore save hacks would be kinda cool, I had thought about trying to put that into a server program that the NES would communicate with over the controller port.
74LS20. It's quite a basic decoding circuit.Memblers wrote:mapper 0 implies no mapper. So how is the WRAM mapped in?
That or they don't implement the keyboard and therefore can't run the only mapper 0 game that uses PRG RAM.Memblers wrote:I guess that's why some emus don't like it

Sorta forgot to post these:
Galaga[sram].zip
Tetris[sram].zip
I've only played one player with the Galaga patch, so player two may not work. Also, here's one for Contra that lets you carry two weapons like Contra 3:
Contra[dualweapon].zip
The select button toggles back and forth.
edit: removed broken links, added patches as an attachment

Any chance these patches still exist? I'm dying for a Galaga that saves the score!

Re: Games and highscores
I've done a few highscore-saving hacks aswell, it's on my website. I'd love to add in-game highscore list (with editing) but.. too much work. :/

oRBIT2002, love your patches!
Would you be interested in doing a patch to allow VS. Wrecking Crew to work on a 1-player VS, so it can work in most emulators that only emulate 1 side VS. board for use in fceux, mesen, or even a regular vs pcb on 1 side? But still maintain the VS platform?
I figure you have already figured out how to put the game into 1 player mode with your VS. to NES conversion, so it might be possible to just use that part of the patch on the VS rom? I could be wrong though

Re: Games and highscores
I edited my original post with the patches. The Tetris one should probably be converted to an xdelta patch.
