I opened it to clean and noticed that there was no battery soldered to the board.

Is it a manufacturing defect?

Hey there,

The answer is very simple and has nothing to do with the battery... The outer shell does not correspond to the PCB inside. Somebody swapped it

The "SD Gundam 3 Gachapon" game is supposed to be a mmc3 TKROM board. Its code is HVC-3G.

On your photo the board is a TSROM (also mmc3). The game on it says HVC-UM and corresponds to "Super Mario Bros 3".

There you go

PS: Didn't you just try the game in your console?!? You would have seen it directly
