Famiclone power supply

Post by damirium »

Hello everyone, so I recently bought this lovely unit:

Don't know if it works but for 5€ I took that chance. But, I don't have an appropriate power supply. Now, it says on the back that it takes 10VDC, 850mA, but, what it doesn't say is what plug orientation it takes, center-positive or center-negative. And unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a non-destructive way of opening it up either.

I know that on a real Famicom, if you plug in the wrong power supply you'll slamdunk headfirst into an electrolytic cap and burn it out, and, yeah, I don't want that to happen. So, if any of you fellow famiclone owners knows what power supply your unit takes, would be greatly appreciated. I doubt there'll be anyone with the exact same model as this one, because I couldn't find any traces of it online, but I suppose they're all alike, or I hope so at least.

99.9% famiclones have center negative supplies, I don't think this one is any exception. If you have a multimeter etc. you can see if center pin connects to the RCA grounds.

Oh, ofcourse, the RCA sleeves... That's a great idea, how didn't I think of it!
Yeah, seems to be the case after checking that way.
