Question about AMROM wiring.

Post by acidrain97 »

Found a very beat up Narc cart for $1.99 and would like to up date it to Narc Uncut rom hack.

I'm confused about the wiring. The game is AMROM. Would I be using this wiring scheme?

AMROM -> AOROM conversion (mapper 7):
Bend up pins 1, 2, 24, 30, 31, 32
Solder pin 1 to pin 32 to pin 31 to hole 28 (VCC)
solder pin 2 to hole 22 (A16)
solder pin 24 to GND (OE)
solder pin 30 to pin 12 of '161 (A17)

If so the second line is confusing. Does hole 28 have a pin soldered in or is the pin pulled then solder the wire to the hole?

Or is there a completely different wiring scheme?

Also does anyone have a wiring scheme for a GNROM/SEROM?

Thanx

You're connecting a 32-pin ROM into a 28-pin socket, so yeah the numbering can be a little confusing. Hole 28 on the board is 5V, on your 32-pin EPROM, pin 30 is the pin that corresponds to that hole. So yeah, you'll bend that pin upwards.

Had to do a little shell cutting to accommodate the 27c010 but overall success. Thx.

SAROM is like a nrom no wires correct? I'm still trying to get VS. Duck Hunt to work.

SEROM Is that the same as SAROM or different.

thx
