Hello,
I am new to the forums. I recently bought an early serial number NES-001 with a NES-CPU-02 board. Unfortunately, it will not power on. The seller said it was tested and working prior to shipping, but its not powering on now. The power supply I am using works on another unit. The area on the board that the power supply plugs in (not sure of the name ... maybe RF box) looks different than any I've seen online. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Thank you

Re: NES with NES-CPU-02 wont power on
One of those five pins that connects between the power/RF box and the NES mainboard - furthest to the left in your picture - should have power when the NES is plugged in but turned off. Use a multimeter in voltage mode to measure it. Put the black probe on the metal shroud on the outside of the power/RF box and the red probe on the pin. Depending on the power supply you're using, you should see somewhere between 7 and 13 volts.
When the power switch is on, both the first pin and the one right next to it should have the same 7 to 13 volts. If you only see power on the first pin, there's something wrong with the power switch. This is my guess for what's wrong, since I don't see any obvious problems in your photo.
