COMING SOON: Numeral Munchers for NES

Post by eskayelle »

Anybody out there remember your elementary school days rockin' that Apple ][e in class or that Windows 3.1 box? Now you can relive the glory days of educational video games with Numeral Munchers for NES!

My upcoming homebrew, coded in 6502 assembly using CA65, pits a classic muncher of numbers against some new levels and some new foes... with time constraints!

Think you can master all five mathematically maddening levels? Can you amass consecutive winning runs in a race against the clock, grabbing the highest Hall of Fame score possible? Take a dive into the world of Numeral Munchers and find out!

(Within the next couple weeks, my goal is to release the game to the masses. Until then, why not check out some of my recent releases?)

My reply about MECC's series as a whole:

I remember playing Number Munchers, along with Oregon Trail Apple //e, Great classics in MECC's Lineup that became quite collectables in PC and Macintosh space for their respective later release versions, Oregon Trail had the "Old-Fasioned Wooden Box" treatment version, and Munchers got the Majesty treatment, Yknow everything is even there when it gets treatment fit for a king for the PC/MAC versions, Very rare and expensive!

LGR did cover the Oregon Trail multiple times, Check that as well!!!

As for the Munchers series, It's a MECC hit too,

Now For the Current Comment about the homebrew iteration, or "version":

It needs improvements on the graphics, for one, SMB Graphics along with Pac-Man Ghost have to go...

Maybe Draw your own Graphics... or maybe copy for baitim from Apple versions,

I know the old graphics may be temporary, but the SMB1/PacMan Graphics in Homebrew, if released out in public will get
Nintendo and Bandai/Namco to DMCA/Take Down/Sue your works...

Not saying this is bad for you, just call it a "guide in the right direction..."

Thanks for the response! I'm partial to the Muncher series as well as another banger from another software dev, Lemonade Stand.

All my content is free. For me, it's all art and experiences that I'm trying to share (as well as assess for myself what I've learned from each project), with the expected audience likely to be minimal, based on project themes, history and analytics.

Cheers!

Looking forward to the release. BTW, I think that there should be more contrast between the L in Numeral and the background on the title screen.
