sd2snes, stucked at v1.8.0

i have my Sd2snes for years,and i update firmware time by time til 1.8.0 .

however ,since i updated to 1.8.0, each time it boot and saying is “checksum error (clone?)” such message.
but still boot sucess and load games normal, can play fx games.

I suspect my card is somehow like a clone/chinese clone.

I have tried upgrade to 1.9.0, but it have no any result and still boot with same message “checksum error (clone?)” , and info show is still 1.8.0 firmware.

I have another sd2snes with is able to upgrade with same sd card to 1.9.0.

I want to ask, if there is any way to force upgrade/ downgrade the firmware to either 1.9.0 or 1.7 something?
now my sd2snes is stucked at 1.8.0 with that “checksum error (clone?)” message each time and I cannot change firmware to any older and newer one……

The firmware is on the SD-card though, so it's strange that it doesn't update. But why are you using v1.9.0? The latest firmware is v1.11.0 and that's what I use without problems.
Maybe you could try formatting the card and download the latest firmware to it? I guess formatting should remove any remains of the older firmware.
You could also try the diagnostics firmware if you suspect there is something wrong with the SD-card or the SD2SNES, haven't needed to use it myself though.

actually the another card is able to.be updated, 1.9 and yup latest success become 1.11 too.

while the problem card,(guessing could be those so called clone). was.ever able to be updated from 0.xx to 1.8.

but point is 1.8 the firmware said it is flash check error and as a clone.

since then,. no matter what firmware put inside the sd card,. it will only start with this message and no update or downgrade firmware action. sys info always showing as 1.8 .

I am not to judge or debate if my one is a clone or.not,. since i know many people ever got such versions at early.stage and not having enough information like.me.

Sincerely to seek of any advice technically can update my this card to other firmware versions besides 1.8?
otherwise i believe it was Locked by the firmware author intentionally.

What's the question didn't you get it to work with another SD-card?

Which one do you think is a clone? The SD-card or the SD2SNES?

i am saying how and anyone able , developer skill to help me solve my sd2snes #1 to uograde to firmware over the v1.8.0

and my sdsnes card#2 is working.fine. that is brought from key sellers and sure no problem.


i nothing dissatisfied with sd2snes #2 and it can update firmware to 1.11.0 as expected.

while #1 been said as story above. and i cant find any solution.

OK so you have two SD2SNES cartridges where #1 possibly is a clone and #2 is original?
I guess if #1 is a clone it might not work correctly with updates.

You used "card" for both SD-cards and S2SNES cartridges which is what confuses me.
