You can desolder chips in a few seconds. It really is that good of a tool.

If only there were a Hakko rewiring gun that made Nintendo-to-JEDEC rewire jobs that easy

Well that pinswapper program does help out alot but I get what your saying

I really wish there was enough demand and\or someone with the capital to get a shitload of new nes pcb's made up so the price would
be the econmically obvious choice instead of chopping up donors.
I really do think the price of new boards & shells still being higher than using a cheap easy to find donor is what keeps killing off commons with popular mappers. It's not really that bad cause all the common donors sold in the millions of copies so no matter how many die to the cause the rarity and value will never change, espcially with carts from companies like Spica that are already bootlegs.
