Game novelizations

Post by DRW »

Do you know of any novelizations of old games?
I'm not talking about general stories with Mario, Mega Man or whoever in it, but about stories that are actually a novelization conversion of a specific game's plot.
Like if there was a book that tells the story of Trevor Belmont how he sets out to defeat Dracula and meets Alucard, Sypha and Grant on the way. That's what I'm looking for.
On the other hand, a story about how Trevor and Sypha, who are now married, fight a group of vampires that try to kill them because they defeated Dracula three years ago, that's not what I want.
Available now: My game "City Trouble".

Elite is perhaps the most famous for this. Wikipedia even says it was the first video game with a novel included.

I also recall a fiction book from late 1990s that was loosely based on UFO: Enemy Unknown. Not sure if it was licensed, though, but it was published as a normal book, with good print quality, hardcover etc.

I actually had a Donkey Kong Country novel around 1998. What I've always wanted was a Legend of Zelda novel, packed with details of Hyrule and its citizenry during the original LoZ. This, about Ocarina of Time, is something in that direction.
