Thanks for reading,

I am looking for a way to play a ROM containing a great translation of FF3j on my actual NES. 513k size. Will the PowerPak work (I heard there is a 512k limit)?

Thanks for your help,
Will

Should work. The 16 byte iNES header may make it so that it's displayed as 513 KB somewhere. Besides, PowerPak has a separate 512 KB limit for PRG and CHR, so the maximum supported iNES ROM size is 1 MB.

I see EverdDrive-N8 is another potential solution. Which is a better solution? I plan on only loading FF2j and FF3j.

Thanks,
Will

I can't comment about the Everdrive, but the Power Pak works well with all the Final Fantasy trilogy.

You just see 513k because of the header, but for real it's 512k so no worries.

Both the PowerPak and the Everdrive N8 should work fine for these games. Both are great products.

If that's the AWJ translation, then yes, it should run. If it's the AD0220 translation, then I know it isn't supported on the EDN8, and probably not on the PowerPak either.

I have an everdrive. FF2j and FF3j work fine; the MMC1 FF1 (USA) doesn't work well, though. Graphical sprite bugs on the battle screens.

The japanese NROM version of FF1 works perfectly, though.

I played through FF2 and FF3 on my everdrive. Apparently FF1 (USA) works on most NES systems, just not mine.
