My son has got an Xbox 360 for Christmas, but it didn't come with a hard drive. He had an original Xbox before this, but when he got Xbox 360, he assumed you could play Xbox games on it too. Sohe gave hisXbox away and still has loads of Xbox games. Sohe tried to play a regular Xbox game and it said he needed a hard drive. He got a hard drive and now it's telling him that it doesn't support it and updates may be available. Has this happened to anyone already?

I... I'm not sure as I have never played any Xbox, but you might have better luck on a Xbox forum. Just saying...

Same sort of timeline with my son, seems a few Xbox games are portable but most are not. Not sure about the HD issue, but could be due to the need to patch the old code to run on the new system, if there is a patch

An HD is a prerequisite for it to even see if the game is compatible, and from there it's on a per-game basis. I'm sure you can find which games are compatible online with a little searching...
