The Nestopia guy

Hi everyone,
Nestopia author here. Just wanted to tell everyone I'm alive and well.

As you may have noticed, I disappeared from the scene some years ago and
stopped development of the emulator.
Real life and work took over and I didn't feel I had time to continue working on it.
I'm delighted too see that there are some forks out there of Nestopia however and that
development is still ongoing!
With that said. Is anyone here in Tokyo right now? I'm gonna go there next week and though it
would be fun to meet up with people there some night and have a few beers and talk about
emulation and stuff.
/Martin

It's good to have you here! Any plans to get back to working on Nestopia?

This. There has been a lot of development recently with Visual 2C02 etc., does that mean that Nestopia will be receiving a big update soon?

Hang on, how do we know this is the real author of Nestopia?

This thread is almost 6 months old, but I'm going out on a limb (slightly) to state that yes, the OP is almost certainly the real Martin Freij. Reasons, which I admit up front are not 100% fail-proof, but are pretty supportive when in combination:
1. Individual posting using the same general moniker as in the past (i.e. not some random idiot),
2. Individual posting did so from a Swedish IP address (Martin is Swedish and was last known to be residing in Sweden) and the IP was not of a "VPN service",
3. General style and syntax of writing mirrors that of previous writings of Martin Freij.
If this is a hoax, it's either someone who put in a decent amount of time to mimic the style of the original author, happens to be in Sweden, and happens to want to "troll" nesdev. I'd say that's pretty unlikely.

Hi everyone,
Sweetish person here. Just wanted to tell everyone the watches are really good here.

As you may have noticed, I am Sweetish and I work at a chocolate factory.
My chocolate making job took over and I wasn't able to take care of the cows to make cheese.
I am so delighted to see that people are still making cheese!
With that said, Is anyone in Sweden right now? I'm gonna go there next week to meet Pewdiepie
and though it would be fun to meet up with people there some night and have a few beers and talk
about watches and stuff.

Whether or not this really was the Nestopia guy who made this thread (I believe that it was) is not really that much of a big deal. It can safely be said that regardless if it's him or not we've definitely come a long way in both understanding the NES and working on Nestopia, one of the greatest and most accurate emulators (and having been ported to a wide variety of platforms, too). We should be proud of that regardless, even if this was a hoax (unlikely). Though, I honestly don't see what the big deal is. --ShaneM, the Master of ASM
