Holy shit that's awesome. I'm assuming that tact switch is for switching disks?

Yessir. There's enough memory on it to hold 8 disk sides.

Cool! With this I'd even consider using the FDS hardware.

You know, I was never really interested in the FDS because of the crappy technology that floppy disks are... magnectic media is not reliable, mechanical parts in the drive itself degrade, and so on. But this little device actually got me interested.

It can probably also be used for communication between NES software and a PC. Something to explore later...

Very awesome, I want it. Any ETA when and if you'll be offering it to the public?

Side note, my M5A78L-M LX PLUS motherboard works great with FDSLOADER off a USB Flash Drive MS-DOS Boot Disk, formatted with hpflash utility.

Well, the board design is done. I could place an order now and have them in a month or so. Firmware may be finished by then. I'm considering getting a case made for it, but I'm not sure it's worth it. I'd have to sell a LOT of them to make it worthwhile.

A case would be awesome, but I can see how that could be a problem.

Does this mean I have to buy an FDS?

Sign me up! Case or not, I'd love to buy one of these.

... and if it's not a top-loading NES, you'll need one of those too. :P But at that point, I'd just get a famicom AV.
