Bare NES cartridge PCB scans

This topic is for mostly or fully bare printed circuit boards, and historical records. BootGod's database is nice but isn't very convenient when taking contributions, plus don't want to wipe out the bandwidth budget, hehe. I've had one contributor so far, and am going through identifying the boards. Will add when done.

I promise to get mine desoldered and scanned, soon. I will try to name them Mapper_Game name_Description_Front/Back like 'MMC3_SMB3_Battery mod_Front.jpeg' so as to make searching for a specific board type easier. 'MMC3_NES-TSROM-07_Battery mod_Front.jpeg' might be another convention. If we use the metadata feature of JPEG and PNG, we can have such tags inside the image files themselves. My goal is to make a collection that is easy to search by keyword. In Windows, there is 'search' (Win-F), in Debian and DOS I was using command-line tools for this. Support for hidden metadata is not so universal, it seems. :( Having mapper chip name at beginning is essential to make this collection remotely sane to search through. I'm sure we'll figure something out.

Few requests:
1) Please make notes of who took the photos. I don't want anyone getting accused of plagiarism. ;)
2) Please label your images so they're easy to sort. I can do the labeling if needed.
3) If you have a seedbox, host these torrents, please. :)

I'll add magnet links to OP so they don't vanish off the Internet. I can do all the renaming and organizing by mapper chip and board/game name if needed. Thanks for all contributions!

If the Game Genie is interesting, you can have these:

Sweet! Adding in a moment. Adding after I can see if vuehbwhq says it's OK to add both boards. They both look like a 1.5 revision - they're only 3 weeks apart?

I've never seen a ROM version other than V1.5, but then again I haven't personally tried dumping the gloptop version. I'd be surprised and interested if there was another version.

I've bought and disassembled 20+ Game Genies, you wouldn't believe how many board variations there are. Some of them have the same parts in the same places but the PCB traces are completely different. And the production dates overlap, I think most of these were made around the same time at different factories or something. If you'll recall, Nintendo sued and had an injunction against Galoob to stop the Game Genie. Galoob eventually won the lawsuit, so I believe Nintendo literally paid for the production of these.

Haha, hilarious. I'll update when I get more data. Thanks for that story!

I don't think it'll be anytime soon. I'll just wait until I have enough images to be worth creating a new torrent with. Link to other topic will do for now.

:edit: Waiting on carts needed to get this scanner working. Already ordered, just got to wait on mail.

I've got some bare pirates scanned here:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B0OtM ... 3hITHhGQmM

It's a bit messed up... almost all of them are taken from the thrash can.
In some boards, the ROMs were fried and I couldn't identify the games some even had no ROMs, or part of the ROMs removed (some in a way I think who had done it was very upset!) . So, some games' names are just guesses.
I even have some MegaDrive and SNES scans on the same folder.

Please, feel free to tell me any mistakes I may have done, so I can correct it.
If someone wishes to share in a better/faster way, just give credit where its due and it's fine too.

Hope this can be useful to someone besides me.

Cool, thanks! I have the 60-cent (remanufactured ink) cartridges to use this scanner with. I'll need to wait until I can get some sunlight, to more easily do this. I have ELROM and ETROM (I think, the Mahjong and Gunsight games), but not sure I want to desolder the MMC5's on them instead of just 'Ohming it out' and drawing the lines by hand on a cleaned-up CAD redrawing.

Why would a multifunction printer need ink in order for the scanner to work?

Because they have their heads up their rear ends? LULz? Stupid? Greedy? Mix of the above? heh.
