The only one I know of is the Brazilian company named TecToy that's building one with Sega's bless.
I bet this should be some FPGA stuff, but sadly, no HDMI

There's been no confirmation on what will be inside TecToy's new Mega Drive, but I seriously doubt they're programming their own logic. So far, all signs point to an off-the-shelf clone with a built-in flash cart.

It can even be one of the older Megadrives, like this one slightly modified and with a new case.
Are any of the of-the-shelf parts still avilable?
Maybe they'll be making their own parts.
I can't be sure for now, I'll just wait to see pictures of the guts after the release.
Would be nice if they could also produce new cartridges.
Maybe this could push some of the prices down.
