I knew about the Mario 3 stuff... because it's my most favorite game ever.
But yeesh, I thought the green bubbles were a background layer (don't know why, but I assumed it).

I had the official guide for Super Mario World that explained all kinds of tricks, including how to defeat Big Boo and those green ghost bubbles. Defeating the Grinders was new to me though.
I knew that the Tanuuki Suit transformation could stomp otherwise invincible enemies, but I didn't know about the flame (or had forgotten about it). Super Mario Bros 3 has so many small secrets that I didn't know about until years later.
The double kick in Super Mario Galaxy 2 is new to me. In fact I'm playing it now for the first time. I'm a bit behind.
But I wonder if it really only works in Galaxy 2? It doesn't seem they changed the physics or anything from Galaxy.
