Topics with polls do not mark as read correctly?

People have been bumping this thread recently: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=14699

It seems to "stick" in my unread posts view until I go through every page of it again, for some reason. Do polls mess with the unread posts feature in some way?

Or maybe someone keeps editing earlier posts in the thread? I dunno, it's a bit confusing to me.

I've noticed something strange about this thread too... I had to click the "view latest post" several times (3 or 4) until it was marked as read.

I thought maybe if someone votes on a poll, maybe I need to visit page 1, but last time it didn't clear until I visited page 4. ? I dunno.

I'd guess that the bug arises is because it's an announcement thread?

Yeah I've seen the same bug. I'd also guess it's related to it being a sticky announcement.

Workaround seems to be to click the "Mark forums read" link in the front page.

"Mark forums read" risks missing a new post submitted between when you "View unread posts" and when you "Mark forums read". To mark only the topic you're viewing as read, click the permanent link icon to the left of "Posted:" at the upper right corner of the last post in the topic.
