In Beijing, there's a good place for that between Guloudajie subway station and Houhai. It's likely that Houhai is a place you'll visit in Beijing. You can find the video game stores by exiting Houhai at the east side and then proceeding north (alternatively, you can exit at the south end and then walk east until you can find a KFC just north of the northeast corner of an intersection -- Head north from there). You should see an ancient Chinese-looking tower on the north end of the street (I believe this tower is called Gulou -- you can probably also see it from a distance, so this could be helpful). The stores are concentrated at the north end of the street, near the tower.. on both sides of the street, though mostly on the east side.
Most of the stores just sell new stuff.. but I know I've seen some old NES clones in at least one of the stores.
I think there are also some videogame stores on the street extending eastward from the tower, but I've never looked there.
