Snes Jr broken 7805 pads

Ive had this Snes Jr for a few months, when i got it it didnt turn on so i opened the shell to check what was going on and saw that someone had already tried to fix it.

There was a bridge where the fuse is supposed to be, and there was no 7805 regulator, whoever worked on this broke 3 pads on both sides of the board, looking at the 7805 from the back of the console, broken pads are the center one which i think is the ground, and the right one which i believe is the voltage output.

Can anyone help me figure out where to solder the pins directly to the board to see if it actually works? looks like an easy wiring to feed voltage to it, ground pin i can solder pretty much to any of the caps, but the input and output i dont know where to solder to and i dont have any other Snes Jr to compare it to.

Thanks in advace, some pics i took

This is really easy- just turn on your soldering iron and turn the temperature to high (due to high heat dissipation here), scrape the green protection layer with a knife near where the traces are gone and solder to them using thick wire. Alternatively you can use multimeter and solder 7805 wherever you are comfortable. You don't need another console like this, just engineering tools (soldering iron and optionally a multimeter)

Yes but im a bit confused... on the bottom of the board i think all 3 pins on the 7805 are isolated, i dont see them going to any nearby traces. On the top the ground pin goes to the ground plane obviously, the right pin goes to the positive on one of the caps, but the left pin is also isolated :/

If im correct, left pin on the 7805 is the voltage input... but i dont see it conenected to any traces.

Not that I mind using us as your eyes, but have you considered getting a proper viewing platform? Something with a lot of directed bright light and some magnification, perhaps?

Your pictures are sufficiently out of focus that I can't really figure things out. But I think it might be a more-than-2-layer PCB.

The issue here is your photos are really chaotic and also out of focus, especially the 1st one. Also the markings "CART CONNECTOR" "MULTIOUT" don't look correct. Notice that there is also an empty space for a capacitor, so this was also probably removed but I'm not sure. Anyway all of the original traces must have gone on either side of the PCB or both of them, there must always be a connection of each pin somewhere. If you can get better photos then this is encouraged

If I'm not mistaken then I THINK the connections you are supposed to repair should look like this here:

Here's someone's good picture of the top side, and its associated connections:

So, i ended up soldering the ground and output pins directly to that black capacitor using wires, and the input pin i had to solder right over the pad which surpsisingly wasnt destroyed, i just bent the leg so it was flat over the pad and solder it directly.

After about an hour of tedious soldering work, the damn thing wont boot the games at all, im getting only a black screen, TV detects something coming in tho, but nothing ive tried has worked so far, cleaning the pins, resoldering the cart connector to fix cold joints, tested if the reset switch was broken and in a permanent reset state but it is good, power switch is also good, i added an LED to the controller ports so i know that the console is actually getting power, also tested voltage on the 7805 and it is good, what a letdown, ive never put so much work on a console before and this is the first i havent been able to at least tun on and play the games.

Black screen with good sync vaguely insinuates CIC handshake failure. Hard to say why.

You can try to disable the lockout chip.
So this can confirm if that's the problem or not.
