Post by Rubel »

Nuclear Mushroom Boom - Super 9999 in 1 is my second music ROM.

The music release includes 9999 tracks that I made from 2012 to 2018.

Made with NESASM3 and Famitracker.
Enjoy listening!

If you made 10,000 original songs (tracks) then that is amazing!

A real-time improvisation engine could make, say, 10,000 Mega Man level themes. Over 2 decades ago, I wrote an improvisation engine in C for PC.

It's a smart-alecky idea on the "(implausibly large number in 1)" multicarts. There's 8 real songs, and algorithmic modifications of them to make up additional. I don't know if there's enough modifications to actually play back each song 1250 different ways.

I found "BEAVER A" to be interestingly full of sour notes, in that way where I can't decide if I like or dislike that the notes are out of tune.

I do not think it is possible. I spend so much time on every track. It is parody on china multicarts with 5-7 unique games

That would be cool to write an improvisation engine on NES but I do not have skills for that. I use famitracker for music creation.

Thanks! Actually, there are more than 8 real songs. Some other real tracks are hidden in the list.
Algorithmic modifications based on row # and two bits of a number of first track in a current list. It freezes some ram addresses with some values. I loved to freeze random values in emulator in popular NES games to get different sounds of soundtracks so I took this idea in my ROM. Mostly, it is a fun idea for me to search weird different sounding of my tracks :D

Aw, man. Now I had to look them up, and then I had to obfuscate that so that I'm not just ruining it if other people want to find it.

The replaced songs are at entries #
A244132 element 33
A002378 element 20
A001333 element 6
A046256 element 43
A029969 element 16
A015723 element 30
A000032 element 9

Anyway, would you consider an NSF release? Of at least the original 8 songs, if not the seven you've hidden.

Why not. I did not think about that. Now, I have separate NSF files. I need to combine them with one, right?

Hey I'm listening to it now on emulator. Amazing music! I'm putting it on my SD card now to listen on the real hardware.

Thank you! Did you listen or the real hardware? What is your hardware? NES or Famicom?

I did listen on real hardware too - I'm on a US NES, so an NTSC front loader. It worked just the same as emulator as far as I could tell. Nice job on the music! Sorry if you posted this elsewhere, but did you use famitracker to make it?
