Re: Disch has passed away
yea this broke my heart to hear. i always loved talking to disch in the #rom-hacking IRC channel on EsperNet - thats where i always hang out. He always helped me out every time i had any NES questions, and he helped me tons of times for my game Megaman Odyssey whenever i got stuck on coding related problems.
I felt like he was a father to me honestly.

Re: Disch has passed away
Very unfortunate news. I don't remember if I ever really talked with Disch personally, but it was always apparent that he was one of the foundational people in the scene even back when I was first dipping my toes into the world of ROM hacking and homebrew back in the early 2000s. My condolences to his friends and family.
Re: Disch has passed away
Rest in peace, Disch. A true NES legend and great person, very helpful countless times.

Re: Disch has passed away
With respect, any picture of him?

Useless, lumbering half-wits don't scare us.
Re: Disch has passed away
It's been a long time since I regularly interacted with Disch, but at that time, he didn't like to give out personally identifiable information. I wouldn't be surprised if he never shared his picture.
Disch was a pleasure to have in the community and he'll be remembered for his contributes for a long time.

Hah! I think he would've appreciated that.
Though, instead of kicking you out of his lab, he'd actually invite you in.

Sad to hear that.
My emulator has a working APU entirely thanks to disch's explanations of how it works.
