I tried doing this repro using this patch:https://www.romhacking.net/translations/131/
But it didn't work on my GNROM repro board.
Since this patch uses a trainer and is simultaneously NINA-001 and BNROM, I tried another patch.
https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/3490/
This one works on real hardware using my GNROM repro board, but it behalves weirdly.
The background tiles are arranged differently and game is not really playable.
Here is a comparison between the two.
Any idea what happen, or which patch to use on real hardware?

Wrong mirroring.

In Mesen emulator I get the same result.
Using PPU-A10 or PPU-A11 on CIRAM-A10 gives me the same results so it would be suprising its a mirroring issue.
I'm latching D0, D1 and D4 for PRG Banking since its a 128kb PRG.
Did i miss something on my repro board or its the ROM itself?

I found the issue, it was my repro board. It seems pcbway had the ciram a10 trace cut . Lesson learn, I cannot trust chinese quality inspection.

To be fair, damage on the cartridge board that causes CIRAM to not be able to use the correct mirroring, and instead restrict it to Single Screen mode is still "wrong mirroring".

This board was originally axrom. If you want to write to gxrom, the mirror mode can only be vertical or horizontal, so this board is not applicable.
You need to weld additional flying wires, connecting A10 or a11 to ciram-a10
