AV Famicom HVC-101 – Expansion Audio Balance Restoration Mod with NESRGB RGB Mod Hardware 2.0

Post by BambooShadow »

Is there any up-to-date documentation about the Audio Balance Restoration Mod for the AV Famicom in combination with the NESRGB-Board? I found this post on RetroRGB but it seems a bit outdated, using the old NESRGB-Hardware: https://www.retrorgb.com/av-famicom-hvc ... n-mod.html

On the other hand I saw in one of Voultar's recent videos that he just lifts one pin on an IC, lifts one resistor and connects that to the NESRGB-Board (next to J5). Seems to be pretty easy, but aside from his install video, I couldn't find any up-to-date (written) documentation on this topic.

The Video:
https://youtu.be/WAKSF36CgKE
1.) 19:35: lift the pin (1?) On the BU3270S.
2.) 21:20: Raise resistor R8 and solder an extension to it.
1:07:00: Connect to the via next to jumper J5.
3.) 36:55 & 1:05:35: Connect CPU pin 1 & 2 with "A" and "B" of the NESRGB.
4.) 1:21:20 & 1:33:00: Connect "O" from the NESRGB to the audio pin next to the Multi AV Out pins.

At least that's all the modding-steps I found during the video, regarding the exp. audio mod.

Is there any (written) documentation on the procedure? That seems like a very simple adjustment in this case.

I'd be glad for any help!
