Welcome to the progress thread(?) of this asteroids style boss rush!
Your objective is to destroy various space stations spread across the planetary system you were sent to. Each station will have a different structure, weapons and enemies surrounding it, and you will be able to tackle them in different ways.

There is a lot to be done still, I hope i'll be able to finish in time, but at least most of the engine is done already.

Cool concept! This looks neat.
Re: Steel Moons - Space Boss Rush
There has been a lot of stuff done since the fist post, so I thought an update could be nice!
The hud is done, and there is a screen to select weapons, reset your health and time remaining, and receive missions.
Some people who have tried the game have said that the controls felt weird at first, so there is now a weapon that aims for the nearest enemy automatically, to help getting used to the physics without also having to keep shooting.
I've started working on the first actual stations and enemies now too, and writing the text of the missions to guide you through them (although you could handle them in almost any order, if you find them that is).
Also, there is now an animated title screen, but I don't know if its final.

I'm a huge sucker for parallax scrolling in NES games. also, nice to include SNES mouse support.
Re: Steel Moons - Space Boss Rush
Still working on this?
Re: Steel Moons - Space Boss Rush
Yes, it is almost done now, I just hadn't found any time to write an actual update :p
I can share a few screenshots of some of the stations at least
This was my first time participating in the compo, and I think I overscoped a bit. Barely had enough time to finnish
