I just hope he rests properly so he doesn't burn out.
He basically quit development of the original Mesen because of overworking on it I think, then he started Mesen 2 after some resting.
Here is Windows 10/11 native nightly that i archived in august untouched. Downloaded to archive in August when I felt like the project looked silent just in case. My family and I enjoy mesen 2 on several media centers laptops in the family and I wanted a backup that was untouched just in case. At this point mesen 2 has been our go to emulator and unless a windows update breaks it I think its going to be our go to for a long long time.
Hopefully anyone who needs this sees this link Ill keep it online for a long long time.
As I'm turning 40 this year in December I have been emulating since late 90's and it have been hell of a ride and a fun journey all these years emulating my favorite games and today with utmost accuracy at that.
I have been spoiled by all these brilliant minds making these cool emulators over the years in which some I have even made small contributions to.
Around 15-20 years ago I used to work as an IT-consult/System developer full time and I got burned out pretty badly and have never fully recovered from it even to this day and my stress toleration is pretty damn low.
This might not be the end of Mesen2 but I have seen quite a lot of emulators come and gone over the years, neither Sour or any emulator developer owns me anything and I'm glad that I have been able to have the privilege using Mesen/Mesen2 and many other emulators and see them get regular updates for them to later on halt.
I don't know the reason for the absence and even if it never gets updated again officially I just want to say THANK YOU! <3

Hey buddy,
I had probably the same experience,..
Back then I had everything, and thought I was happy. Then the stress of that kinda job nearly killed me. It took nearly 6 years just to enjoy coding again, but, the love is still there - and I only do it for hobby purposes now.
If you read Sour’s last few posts it mentions ignoring posts to work on the Genesis core, since it hasn’t been worked on since last March. It may be just that. Y’all can check page 67 from July 12th from when Sour said that.
I’d give it a few couple more months before I’d say without a doubt “burnout”.
